One of the reasons I detested the movie (besides its gooey sentimentality) was because it rarely follows the dictates of its own logic. For example, why, when Sandler fast-forwards through sex, does it seem quick to his wife as well, when in no other case does the remote work that way?

I kind of wondered the same thing. In the scene where he changes his skin color to appear more tan, his co workers notice the change. But none of them notice the changes he makes to the boss while he's doing the sexual harrassment speech.

The sex doesn't speed up for his wife. It's that he goes on auto-pilot throughout the sex, so isn't putting any effort in it, leaving her disatisfied

I think he realized that if he told his wife he was just going to fast-forward the boring parts of his life - she would be slightly upset.
"Hon, I got this here remote. It allows me to fastforward/skip over the boring parts in my life."
          "What boring parts?"
"You know, arguments, raising kids, waiting for promotions, having sex."

He could demonstrate through use of the pause function.
E.G. "I'm going to teleport from here to here."
              Or the contrast function.
              "I'm gonna change my color."

I get ur logic but then again she could find a reason to why those things are happening.

                1. If he moved himself behind or or elsewhere she could claim he did some magic trick he saw on tv or other. Saying something like "Nice trick now will you stop playing around"
                2. Color scheme ~ she could say "Oh plz your face always turns red (other) when you're trying to avoid my conversation"
But I do wonder if the writers initially had something in the original script that had her find out but took it out either because it would make the movie too long or other reasoning.

You're trying too hard What if:

                  1. He hit pause while standing in front of her and then immediately called her from her parents house? Or maybe they were watching a live news broadcast and he'd say, "hold up, keep watching tv" and Well you get the picture. There are plenty of ways he could have convinced her that not even Criss Angel could pull off.
                  2. Are you serious right now? He turned green and yellow too. What would her excuse be for watching her husband turn completely green in front of her, I wonder?
They could have easily let me tell her about it and make it convincing.. EASILY. But as someone mentioned already, it's a movie, so hey why not.

I'm a different person, sorry. I watched the movie today (for the 30th time) and was going through the board getting into the conversation. Didn't really pay attention to the dates.

Ever see that Twilight Zone episode with the stopwatch? Guy tries to show people it works but they don't see it because everybody else is frozen except the guy using it. Same process, he can't show her anything to prove it because he's the only one that gets to see the effects take place.

This is untrue though. If you'll remember, he clearly assaults multiple people and they feel the effects quite intensely. As for showing proof, you'll also remember that he changed his color to a tan Whats to stop him from making himself green again in front of everyone? It's just movie logic is all, but in real life it would be INCREDIBLY easy to prove you have a super remote.

I figure that she would be more mad that he was using the remote in the first place than explain why all that stuff was happening. Also I suspect the remote would probably not work for him when he is trying to explain how it works to other people.
