This show seems to be really old fashioned now. When I try to characterize the 2000s thru tv, I think of this show, Ame

What was so different about the era that DH was on that it wouldn't be relevant today?
Well for one thing they were still using flip phones and one episode mentioned 'Myspace'.
Boston and Philly love to slander us, but they don t have as many fans as us -

Desperate Housewives has only been off the air for 4 years now. What has changed so much that makes the show dated? You want to see dated shows, watch an 80's program to see the big hairdo that was popular back then or a 70's show with the outdated fashion designs. There's nothing in Desperate Housewives that even meets these standards. Plus some of the stories this show did is still risky for primetime TV. Andrew sleeping with his mother's boyfriend in her bed is still one I haven't seen other shows try to imitate yet.

The only thing in this show that recalls a nice, different time is the lack of iPhones and encompassing social media, less tech and nobody's face buried in screens 24-7. For some reason, I think about that when watching this show. Of course, in later seasons, both iPhones and Facebook were mentioned.
Other than that, the show really doesn't call to mind any feelings of it being old-fashioned. I'm not sure I understand what makes you say that, especially the part about DH being more dated than the other shows you listed. SATC ended the year DH premiered, for example. DH, more old-fashioned than SATC? Come now.
Like poster above said, it ONLY ended 4 years ago (although it seems like forever). -

Yes, I think it would be just as popular if a more modern version was released and hypothetically the show didn't have an 8 season run, not too much would have to be different. Facebook and Twitter don't need to exist in Wisteria Lane. New cars and appliances doesn't change anything either. The show almost has a 'timeless' age period. Even watching it in 2017, I don't see any anachronisms.

I think it would be; it offers something different than the same reality crap etc that is still out there.
