In several episodes,they show area code 605, so does that mean the show takes place in South Dakota?

The show takes place in a fictional state named The Eagle State.

Yes, have seen the license plates on some cards with that emblem. But, 605 is the area code for South Dakota

The show isn't meant to take place in any existing state even though they used an existing area code.
