1, the king grows a pair and actually does something about humans taking his surf. He didn't need to kill everyone with his Golden Army but just remind them of their truce. Keeping a truce that the other side has broken anyway is just stupid. Anything would have been better than just letting your people fade away. He was a terrible ruler, just as bad as his son.
2, melt the crown in the first place. In the end, it's as simple as Liz melting it. They could have done it in the beginning. The king could have done it instead of just splitting it into pieces.
3, kill the princess. The bad guy's life is tied to her's. In fact if she's so willing to kill herself anyway, she should have done just that in the first place. -

It would have ended better if they just quietly killed her. Same result.
Who's they? She ran away once her brother killed her father so not the guards.
Abe certainly wouldn't have wanted anyone to kill her.

- He wanted peace more than anything.
A peace that meant the death of his people. He was committing genocide. - He couldn't melt it since it was split up between the 3 of them.
He could have melted the crown before splitting in three pieces. - That would be sadistic and evil. Could YOU kill your sister/daughter/lover?
Yes

- It takes greater strength to maintain peace than to declare all out war. The king saw what war can do and wanted no part of it.
- A good point. Though maybe they're not quick to destroy ancient relics.
- No. Nuada was sentenced to execution. Not his sister. And she wasn't "so willing" to kill herself. It was a last resort when she realized nothing would ever stop Nuada. Suicide is not a first option.

No, it doesn't. Especially when the price of peace is greater than the price of war. The king was a coward that deserved to die. - No. Nuada was sentenced to execution. Not his sister. And she wasn't "so willing" to kill herself. It was a last resort when she realized nothing would ever stop Nuada. Suicide is not a first option.
But his sister would die anyway. It makes more sense to just kill her as she's easier to get to.

Sadly, the king had realized his people's time had come. A war would mean an immediate genocide. They'd have no chance against the human's new weapons. Even with the golden army. It takes a strong king not to engage in a pointless, futile war. Besides, as we saw with the troll market, his people seemed to be doing ok.
And again, the sentence wasn't on the sister. It was on the Prince. Plus, she'd run away. How do people miss that? It's not easier to kill someone who isn't there.

Sadly, the king had realized his people's time had come.
Any excuse to be a coward.
A war would mean an immediate genocide.
So would peace.
They'd have no chance against the human's new weapons.
They have a Golden Army.
Even with the golden army.
The Golden Army were indestructible. The only reason the "bad" guy lost was because he was dumb enough to fight Hellboy directly. If he had not accepted his one on one combat, he would have won. How would the humans beat that.
It takes a strong king not to engage in a pointless, futile war.
Good thing it wasn't pointless or futile then thanks to their Golden Army.
And again, the sentence wasn't on the sister. It was on the Prince.
Which means nothing.
Plus, she'd run away. How do people miss that? It's not easier to kill someone who isn't there.
Yeah, afterwards. He could have just had a guard slit her throat before that.

Not at all. Takes greater strength to maintain peace than to declare war.

No. Because they could still live out peacefully in secret for much longer than in an open war.
They have a Golden Army.
That can be blown apart with bazookas, rockets, ICBM's, nuclear war heads, etc. Even if they can rebuild themselves, the king's people would be slaughtered.
Good thing it wasn't pointless or futile then thanks to their Golden Army.
Totally futile with the human's weapons. An army made of gold doesn't stand a chance against planes and tanks made of steel. Gold is very soft and brittle.
Which means nothing.
Means everything to her father.
Yeah, afterwards. He could have just had a guard slit her throat before that.
Again, the sentence wasn't on her.

That peace was killing his people. That's not strength. That's stupidity.
No. Because they could still live out peacefully in secret for much longer than in an open war.
But they would die. It they sued the Golden Army, that'd have lived.
That can be blown apart with bazookas, rockets, ICBM's, nuclear war heads, etc. Even if they can rebuild themselves, the king's people would be slaughtered.
It would rebuild faster than it can be destroyed. Plus, the king's people wouldn't need to go to war. Just let the Golden Army do it for them. It would be the military that get slaughtered.
Totally futile with the human's weapons. An army made of gold doesn't stand a chance against planes and tanks made of steel. Gold is very soft and brittle.
You do realise it was a magic army, right?
Means everything to her father.
Because he's retarded.
Again, the sentence wasn't on her.
Who cares? It gets the job done.

Nope. The king knew a war would be the immediate extinction of his people. That'd be a bigger stupidity to openly reveal his people to the humans. Now the humans have a common enemy.
It would rebuild faster than it can be destroyed.
Nope. One ICBM would blow hundreds to pieces and scatter them for hundreds if not thousands of feet. It would take a while for those pieces to crawl to each other to rebuild.
You do realise it was a magic army, right?
Yes. A close-quarter combat army with swords. That's useless against rockets, tanks, planes, missiles, and bombs. Heck, we've got missiles we can launch from ships in the ocean. The golden army would never even get close to the humans.
One nuclear bomb would disintegrate them. Can't rebuild themselves if there's nothing left.
Because he's retarded.
Nope. Because he cares for his daughter.
Who cares?
Her father.

And dying off slowly is better?
Nope. One ICBM would blow hundreds to pieces and scatter them for hundreds if not thousands of feet. It would take a while for those pieces to crawl to each other to rebuild.
No, it wouldn't. Even if they manage to blow up one of them to that extent (which is assuming they are be destroyed through conventional means, the ones we saw reacquired the Fist of Doom and a ghost possessing one of their own and even that didm;t stop them), there is a massive army of them.

Except for the fact they're indestructible. You're not gonna be able to disintegrate them.
Nope. Because he cares for his daughter.
Yet, is happy to kill her its pointless keeping her alive when her brother's death would kill her anyway.
Her father.
We've already established he's a retard.
