All that update says is "Announced." He used to have At the Mountains of Madness on there for a long time too. It's gone now.
Nothing is in pre-production. Nor is it set in stone until it actually begins. Even then, it's still not set in stone (ask Terry Gilliam and his Don Quixote movie he's been trying to make for 20 years).
Again, this would be a problem if all those projects were being scheduled to start at the exact same time.
There's nothing to indicate they are or will be.

At this point: Completely irrelevant. It's not happening right now, so saying "at this point" is moot.
Next logical step is to get another director before it's too late.
Before what is too late? Is Ron Perlman dying? Or Selma Blair? Doug Jones? As you can see by all these sequels coming out 20 years later, it's never too late.
Too much time could pass and there might not be a 3rd movie, though. That's how it works.
The same thing applies to any of his other projects. They might fall apart, and he'll be free to do Hellboy 3.
There's no need for another director. There isn't any problem right now with the schedule of any of his projects. "At this point," there is no issue.

No, at this point, it being "unlikely" is completely relevant.
No, because none of those projects are happening right now. They've just been announced. Nothing has started.
Getting older, doing other projects Remember the keyword here: "unlikely".
Actually, the key phrase is "at this point." Right now, there isn't an issue. Projects are being planned, but nothing is set in stone.
              You assume too much.
As do you by assuming a new director is needed when nothing has even started.
Sure there is, as for the reasons stated above. Del Toro says it's "unlikely". Obviously there is a problem or you'd be currently getting a sequel made.
Things change all the time. Del Toro was once attached to direct The Hobbit. That didn't happen. He's been trying to get At the Mountains of Madness made for years.

No, you don't get to decide what is or isn't going on. "Unlikely" goes for Hellboy 3, not those projects.
Except those projects aren't going on right now.
There is an issue, though. That's why it's "unlikely", and as you can see, there are other projects in the way. Fact is; he's moving more on Pacific Rim 2. And since the first movie was bad, I DO wish he would push more toward Hellboy 3.
And he's been moving on At the Mountains of Madness for 10 years. Until something has started, nothing is set in stone. We got two Hellboys. I'd like to see two Pacific Rims.
Not at all. I'm not assuming, I'm hoping and that is more valid than your assumption. After all, you heard it straight from the horse's mouth. Hellboy 3 isn't happening from him nor the studio.
                  Blind hope is even worse.
Not this time, though. He addressed Hellboy 3 already. It isn't happening. Until he changes his mind, you remain down in the count.
Ah, see now that makes sense. Not your whole "He's got these other things" argument.
In any case, I don't want to see Hellboy without Del Toro. It's his vision. He should be the one to finish it.

I enjoyed Pacific Rim, and I'm sure I'll enjoy part 2. While I don't think it was better than the Hellboy movies, I'm looking forward to the sequel.
It should have always made sense, especially taking his other projects into consideration.
Again, writers, directors, producers are constantly working on multiple projects at various stages of production. Many are announced but never completed or even started.
Until Hellboy 3 is given the go ahead by the studio and starts filming without him, there is nothing set in stone that says Del Toro can't do it. And even then, directors are replaced all the time even in the middle of filming.
So until Hellboy 3 is completed, there is nothing preventing Del Toro from doing it. Even if he turns it down (Peter Jackson originally turned down the Hobbit to focus on other projects). Unlikely, sure, I'll give you that. But not impossible.
You might have to. He can still finish it as a producer.
I thought it wasn't moving forward?

It didn't have enough to draw any real interest. It was basically another Transformers movie. I was actually surprised Del Toro wanted to make something like that. But to each their own.
Giant robots fighting giant monsters. That's all that was needed. I was expecting another Pan's Labyrinth.
I'm not saying he can't, I'm saying it's possible he could pass on it or the studio would give it to someone else.
Anything is possible. It's also possible he'll change his mind and make Hellboy 3.
His interests are elsewhere. That and whatever the studio's reasons are is what's preventing him from doing it.
Right now he is. As I've said, things change in Hollywood all the time.
It isn't. It's still a matter of if and when the studio decides to move on it.
So if it's not moving forward, where's the danger of him having to be replaced as director? You can't have it both ways. He needs to be replaced as director because he's working on all these other things; the movie's not moving ahead right now.
And it's been 6 years since the last one
How long was it between Indiana Jones sequels?

With all the good action and effects, any movie will sink without a good story and good characters. Not sure where you're going with Pans Labyrinth.
Meaning I wasn't going in expecting the characters to be the highlight of the movie. That being said, I still enjoyed Mako's journey, and of course, Idris Elba's always good.
Even if he did, it's not up to him. "Unlikely" regards many factors other than himself.
Weren't you using the fact that he's not moving ahead as why it's unlikely. Now, it's not up to him?
Apples and oranges. Those movies were huge and had huge followings, all on another level greater than "Hellboy". How many of them were made again?
The fact remains: time is clearly not an impediment in Hollywood. So there is no danger of "too late" as long as the surviving participants are still wiling and able.
