    pregnant?
When I watched "Match Point" ten years ago, it was a big plot hole to me the police didn't point out Nola was pregnant, since they should have discovered it from her autopsy, and, most of all, it's not plausible she hadn't written that in her diary, so that they could easily know Chris was the father and consolidate the allegations against him.
I rewatched it a few days ago, and reading some comments here, it could be that Nola was lying and was not pregnant.
This could be interesting and explain the plot holes above, but it contradicts other things: first of all, in the scene when Chris "meets" Nola and her neighbour after he killed them, the latter remarked that she had nothing to do with that story, Chris answered her she had been a "collateral damage", and she replied that so it had been his son; it's not clear if this is the police officer's dream, from which he "discovers" what really happened: in this case, he should have "known" Nola was pregnant and Chris was the father; then, it's always not plausible Nola didn't write in her diary, that is, that she was lying about being pregnant and was somehow blackmailing Chris to reveal everything to his wife, and this would be the main motive to kill her.
I'm Winston Wolf. I solve problems.

Just watched it for the first time tonight It could be that Nola wasn't pregnant and as the 'ghosts' were in his guilt ridden imagination, that is why the neighbour ghost mentions his child

The ghosts are just his imagination/conscience. Therefore they would say he lost his child as that was what he was lead to believe.
It must have been a lie. A tack to try and motivate him to leave his wife otherwise the police autopsy would have discovered she was pregnant. This would be a big motivation for bumping her off so the police would have definitely explored this.
On the other hand if she put every thought in her diary then due would probably have written in it that she has lied to Chris in order your get a reaction from him. If the police read this it would still be the same motivation for killing her because they would know as far as Chris knows she is pregnant and therefore might want to get rid of her (and the baby) so as to not ruin his "perfect" life/marriage.
Or thirdly Woody Allen didn't think it through and as she was pregnant and left a big gaping plot hole, which us viewings have conveniently filled for him.
        Food for thought
