Terrible movie, explicitly bad

Vin Diesel is a legitimate actor. The whole reason he has a career is because of the two roles he wrote for himself in Stray's and Multi-Facial, both of which I'm sure you've never heard of. Diesel wrote, directed, and produced both of them. Multi-Facial impressed Steven Spielberg enough to offer him a role in Saving Private Ryan. Stray's competed at Sundance. So, obviously he can act and you're just either too blind to see it or too stubborn to accept it. Not to mention the fact that he received an enormous amount of acclaim for his role in this movie, which got very good reviews. So basically what I'm saying is, you're opinion is completely wrong.

I thought the whole thing was just awful, including Diesel's performance.
He is a classically trained actor who went through the right avenues in order to learn his craft, I just think he was miscast here.

Well I thought it wasn't so bad actually I don't know the real story but most of the plot unfolds in the court room and even if not all of it is true, it wasn't boring, not everything was interesting but the real trial lasted almost 2 years and we had a glimpse of what happened, so without the time to go through the details we had a clear picture. I don't know if it is as easy to write as you think it is
The story is worth telling, at least I thought so I found my self not convinced that those guys were dangerous or a menace to society, but they really are. So in the end, the jury's verdict isn't really a surprise.
The acting isn't great, but really when you think about it, I said to myself that some of those guys doing a supporting role as mobsters did a worse job than Vin Diesel, some of them were too much of a clich I don't who you'd cast for that role With a physique of a real mobster and the "soft" side that he appears to have, not an easy choice
Of course it's only an opinion. -

I believe this movie can only work if the viewer is suckered into Vin Diesel's "charm" and would also vote innocent. Or perhaps at the very least if the viewer believed him to be convincing enough and charming enough to convince a jury. I found him annoying, clearly guilty and lacking any charm/charisma (not that it would matter as far as the verdict is concerned). I realise its a true story, but if the film was faithful to events and such a travesty of justice was carried out it should highlight how inexplicable and shocking this is, not take a whimsical "cute" tone with "funny", cartoony swing music. The film was extremely disappointing, sad to see Lumet do such trash.
