I don't think we have to worry about Juan for the moment Bobby as one of the /.'s said they have him secured in a closet of some sort and they engage in sexual activities together
The appetites of that man, I tell you
So while he's happy doing that type of thing for now we at least all know that he's safe and secure

Well….ok. I at least suggested it as an option and I’m sure that Mark Williams-Thomas would have done it for cheap as he just wants the publicity. 🙂
You know, the more I think about it…the more I am convinced that it should have been me there interviewing Christopher, Paul, Colin and Peri. It’s like when I watched a video of Frontier Land Morcambe. Someone was narrating a video of it and at the end they said ‘looks like it was a lot of fun!’ so basically they want there!!!
It should have been ME narrating that video because it WAS fun and I was there!!!

I don't do much telly Bobby but it seems that this Mark Williams-Thomas fellow is in Tenerife just now looking for some kid who's just decided to get wasted and fall in love for a Summer. He's busy enough as it is for a small matter of having Juan cut short his fun
I'm shocked that they couldn't have got a proper narrator for the Frontier Land video Bobby. It was only closed down in 1999 and getting someone who is, let's say…35 years old would have someone who had memories of being there
I'm all for hiring the youth of today and having them shape the world of tomorrow but I think someone around 35 years old is good enough to bridge that gap between young and old whilst still respecting each end.
        Ah well there's always Blackpool!

Well I am going to Blackpool again at the end of July. Myself and Ricky for three nights this time! 😊
I thought about doing a video…one where I talk about old Blackpool memories. What remains now and what has changed. There’s also the interesting angle of Ricky coming at it with inherited memories and seeing if it all measures up to what he thinks. A study of nostalgia vs reality. 🙂
I don’t think I’m brave enough though to be on camera doing things like a deep dive into Coral Island or interviewing Amanda Thompson at Pleasure Beach. Besides it would make us too busy to eat ice creams.

            That sounds lovely Bobby
Have you thought about trying to find some archive footage online and seeing if you could do a modern day match-up of the framing to show the differences of the years?
It doesn't have to be a big professional number with interviews and stuff just a play around with scenes and editing (With some Suno music!) and you could have a little art film on your hands with the resources available to you at no extra cost

Yes, I like that idea. I’m also a big fan of ‘now and then’ comparison videos (with wistful music played as background). 🙂
Hopefully then if we go. I’ve booked the same Travelodge, but British weather is too unpredictable. It could be summer or winter for these few days for all we know. I’ve paid a little extra so it can be refunded if the weather is ****e. If it is then we might go to York or somewhere instead. 🙂

York would be somewhere we could just book last minute and is very easy to get to by train. 🙂
We would prefer Blackpool though. There is nothing that Ricky and I love more than the Fylde coast. Bringing a book along each, breakfast in a morning. catching a tram to Cleveleys and reading on the coast. Breaking for an ice cream and a wander. Fish and chips for tea. 😊

Do you mean the Arcade Club? That isn’t in Cleveleys.
Cleveleys is a quiet little place where they filmed some of Andor (which I saw someone on YouTube doing a video on Cleveleys call ‘the Star Wars TV show
                      )
Cleveleys just has a nice sea front/promenade, a quaint little seaside town centre and a nice ice cream parlour. Last time I got a pistachio and macadamia nut ice cream and dropped it.
There’s also a back alley between two B&B’s where if you go down it you sometimes time slip into 1988!
Cleveleys is also home to the world’s first B&M!! You know B&M Bargains? That is where it started…right there in Cleveleys!!! 😊

That back alley with the way into 1988 might be worth checking out

                          Nelson isn’t in Yorkshire.
And I’m not sure how it works to be honest, but people have sworn that they have walked through it and emerged at the other end to see older style trams rattling past and the branch of a NatWest bank which is no longer there. Then there’s the cars too. 🙂

Were you referring to the open air museum? No it’s not that…the Beamish museum takes you back all the way to the early 20th century. The one in Cleveleys only takes you back as far as 1988…so people recognise it as that very road in Cleveleys. 🙂 Car registration plates and tram experts have been used to place an approximate date. They’ve also used advertising on the trams to make a guess. 🙂

It might have been the open air museum at Beamish Bobby
I'd had a few Beamishes by then and so it all gets a bit hazy
Well then, let's see. 1988 you say? I remember then
E or F reggie plates if I'm not mistaken. Electric aerials and windows on cars starting to become a less uncommon thing. Garfield plushies with sucker cups were on their way out. S'Express, The Only Way is Up, Beat Dis and Bros made their debut!
That was when Yaz was still with the Plastic Population
I don't know if trams were still a thing though. They might have been in Cleveleys I suppose
Well if you could take a couple of Beanos or something back then from 1989 or onwards Bobby you could make a pretty penny

Trams are and have always been in use from Starr Gate in Blackpool through to Fleetwood, passing through Cleveleys. Look it is easier if I just show you….
When the video starts, that is what people are seeing when they come through the time tunnel. Later in the video we see that same scene in 2013 but it’s pretty much like that now with the more modern trams.

Also old Beano issues are barely worth any money, I’ve checked.

Do the people who travel back hear all that music too Bobby?
It sounded much nicer back then than it does later

Yes I think that they do. 🙂 Don’t ask me why, it seems like time travel is such an emotional phenomenon which is so chock full of all different sorts of emotions that maybe that music just naturally forms to create a sort of protection for the brain so that you feel relaxed and it prevents you from going mad. 🙂
Time slips fascinate me. Have you ever been through one yourself? 🙂
