I mean it is 2005, why is everyone making such a big deal of this?

Interactions in a bookshop are always awkward as the person selling you the books will judge you based on them Bobby.
As shown by your vendor missing out the complete point of that author
I just don’t know what to say back to them! A better response would have been ‘oh really? Can you suggest some other good books by her for a future read?’ but I don’t and say something awkward instead because they put me on the spot, I don’t feel confidant enough to have that sort of conversation with a stranger AND there are people behind me waiting to be served and I don’t wish to hold them up. Also I just don’t feel comfortable knowing that it’s customer service patter and not genuine.

Just go for the unexpected Bobby
I'd say something like "Well if you love Shirley you'll
really enjoy
Hugo Rune"
She either gets what you are saying or will smile along with your confidence and be happy that you have made her life a little less difficult too
Most people are too caught up in their own moment and just go through the motions required.
Everyone just wants to go home and have a cuppa really

I think I’ll just say ‘oh no I didn’t mean to pick this one up, I meant to get Topsy and Tim’
and then go and swap it out for Topsy and Tim at the Supermarket or something.

But what if they remember the whole real butter shenanigans with Tim at Topsy Turvy Bobby?
You (And possible they) would be scunnered then

That’s a very good point…it’s too similar for them not to notice.
Maybe I’ll swap it out for Where’s Spot instead, or Meg & Mog.

Meg and Mog is very easy to find, look!
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Collection-Adventures-Pienkowski-Including/dp/0241560756/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3U2KXXWWIPU2N&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.nakTDPgVtIDRlj46XPyhgdhDOwuejQq6ojRYFAsBlOUF6Cq5FDYRWQYrHKNfng2K_hdXEw46rnoFtgETAQxhnG059P_Ufb2HlQb6fSnQVgxhJ8b8zR5pudepYAvvGJw8PrVWfoUuHXiWqokVfpYtNtO8SmGyC_Ci4Nk-ecm6b5MMrloD2ooP7Fc3axiXqwLX9Uee3VGvH3rMThOT00BQwVT7Uh8kRgXl4809facYkbg.pV0p_UqTlEG-oKWfgS5jssKj57k74PvQXzJOQDHUs9U&dib_tag=se&keywords=meg+and+mog&qid=1717973944&s=books&sprefix=Meg+and+%2Cstripbooks%2C80&sr=1-1
Now I don’t know if that’s ALL the Meg and Mog, but it is certainly a lot of it.

It is such a shame that Juan is out there missing and so has almost missed all of this series of Doctor Who as a result.

Yeah, it's getting on a bit now and my feelers haven't trawled up any info on him Bobby…
I wonder if he's alright

stfu already and just use both accounts

I mean, I could log onto Juan's account. I know his password and stuff. But it would be wrong.
He keeps everything in an exact order and is meticulous about how he arranges things /.
He'd know and I'd be in trouble. And for what?
No, I'll hold off and wait for him to come back. He'd do that for me

He's not the type of person who would let anyone down /.
When he was unable to post here due to what was going on before he made sure to leave a message
He's not done that this time and so I have every faith that he'll be back and with good reason as to why he's not been here

Well give it another two weeks and if there’s still no sign then I’m getting that train to Glasgow from Preston and I’m booking into a Travelodge and I’m going to look for him myself!

I hope that Juan turns up before then, Slash Dot…otherwise I’m going to be calling in a lot of favours at work for annual leave swapping!

Take care of our Juan, Bobby, because Siggy doesn’t seem too concerned.
