WHAT? ARE YOU DIS'ING MAMMA MIA? I AM SO SHOCKED, I CALL RACISM!
Seriously, though, Dreamgirls is an average film. The singing is fantastic; no complaints there. The problem is that it relies too much on the music, never fleshing out scenes, dialogues, characters in the way that I expect any decent film to. -

I lasted 30 mins before turning it off. Mediocre musical pastiche. I would have loved it if the dialogue and plot was more dominant as it had a superb cast. As it was it was a headache of a movie. Sorry.

I'm guessing it worked better on stage. It was too overblown for the screen.
I liked the Dreams singing, but the rest of the movie was flat and stereotypical. Nothing new here - not that there needed to be. But it didn't feel fresh.
But by all means, call it RACISM! Such an easy word to say, isn't it. Even easier in CAPS! (you capitalist!)
Sorry, but I relate more to some things more than others. Black girl groups were never my thing. I found it a very boring part of life, being a teen in the 60's. And I hate to admit, I probably relate more to Grease, even tho I hated that period of life! But then, you know I'm a RACIST! -

I couldn't care less about movies with only black people in it and I'm not a rasist for that. If there's a movie with only white people someone is immedietly shouting RASISM! In this movie even the audience at the show was 99% black. Black music has alot more white fans than black ones simply because there are ALOT more white people. That the director is white makes it even more stupid. I liked the music though, love Beyonce, but it reminded me nothing of the wonderful 60's motown.
