I CAN'T BELIEVE IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO SEE THIS MOVIE! I've seen random parts of it but never the whole thing, and I didn't realize how mesmerizing Jennifer Hudson is. I love all of the actors in this film and adore Beyonce as a singer, as well, but I just wanted to watch Jennifer Hudson. Every scene she was in was better because of her. And the "You're Gonna Love Me," bit, the pain, the raw emotion, and the symbolism and foreshadowing were just, WOW! It truly gave me the chills. She deserved that Oscar.

Believe it or not, I've just got round to watching it myself. Having heard some of the music performed at the 2007 Oscars with some of its ridiculous, excruciating over the top vocal theatrics (mostly by Jennifer Hudson), I have personally avoided the movie. However, having now watched it, I've got to say it was pretty good for the first half, until Hudson started singing solo and her cringe worthy vocal theatrics began to permeate the film. However all other singing performances and the story line were enjoyable which made the movie a tolerable (if slightly overlong) experience.
