I'm looking to find new mystery/suspense films that I haven't seen. I'm posting this here because I think it might attract the right kind of people to provide kind suggestions.
Here are films I have seen and liked, with some element of mystery or suspense (in no order):-
    Gone Baby Gone *
    Zodiac * (Gyllenhaal version)
    Birth *
    Paris, Texas
    Womb
    The Legend of 1900
    In the Bedroom
    The Lobster
    Oldboy
    Twelve Monkeys
    The Next Three Days *
    Amelie *
    Slumdog Millionaire
    Vertigo *
    Chaotic Ana *
    L'Appartement *
    Romeo is Bleeding
    The Tenant
    Nine Queens
    Upstream Color *
    Ex Machina *
    Fight Club
    The Prestige
    Leon
    Moon
The Place Beyond the Pines *
    The Secret in their Eyes
    I Origins *
    The Good Shepherd
    The English Patient
Triangle * (I'm reluctant to asterisk this in case I get suggestions that are too steeped in the horror genre, which I do not like, but the actual way that this script is configured is absolute genius, IMO)
    Changeling *
Knowing * (same caveat as Triangle, because this is kinda sci-fi, but I still really like it)
    Sex and Lucia
    Tzameti (2005) *
    Intacto *
    The Spanish Prisoner *
    House of Games *
    Heist *
(pretty much anything good by Mamet, really)
    Sound of My Voice *
    Gosford Park
    The Life of David Gale
    Michael Clayton
    Volver
    K-PAX
    The East
    Twice Born
    Tell No One *
    Conspiracy Theory
    The Usual Suspects
    Se7en *
    Prisoners (2013) *
    Shutter Island *
    Incendies
    The Constant Gardner
    Liar (1997)
    Angel Heart
    The Whistleblower
    Edge of Darkness
    eXistenZ
    The Pledge *
    Triple 9
    The Butterfly Effect
    The Ghost (Polanski) *
    State of Play

    • = Those films marked with asterisks are perhaps the best examples of what I'm looking for, but the suggested films don't have to be exactly like those, or even be that amazing, as long as they have a good story.
If any of you feel like taking the time to think of films that are not on my list, which means there is a chance I haven't seen it, I'd welcome your recommendations.
      Thank you for reading 🙂

      You should watch the following:

      • Primal Fear (1996)
      • Identity (2003)
      • The Game (1997)
      • Cube (1997)
      • Mystic River (2003)
      • The Prestige (2006)
      • The Illusionist (2006)
      • Memento (2000)
      • Inception (2010)
      • The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (2009) * Note, I am referring to the original swedish first film of the saga 'Millenium'. I have not seen the american version made by David Fincher so I can't compare both, but the Original is solid and you should watch it.
This is what I could think of the top of my head, but for now it should be enough.
I will come back with more. Plus I have to watch some from your list too.
        Thanks for sharing!
        😄

Thanks for your suggestions. Sadly I have watched all of them 🙂
Btw, I've watched both versions of Dragon Tattoo, and I think Fincher's superior cinematography just edges it.

            Side Effects
            The Machinist
            Enemy
            Donnie Darko
            Coherence
A Wolf At The Door (Brazilian)
            Network
            Primer
I am a huge movie lover, and watch several movies per week, from all over the world, and both new & old. I mostly like Thriller & Suspense, Mystery, and Horror, and some Sci-Fi. I've seen all of the movies on your list and agree with you/liked most of them, so if you'd like some more suggestions, perhaps a few more obscure ones, too, let me know.
