It's a heist movie a remarkably fun heist movie with awesome explosions, ant armies and charm out the wazzu. It's extremely well directed and acted and has the soul to match its heart. Smart and funny, who wouldn't like that?

I read this on the AOU board "this movie might truly be a pure comic book put on screen" and think it more than applies to Ant-Man as well. The highest compliment you can pay a movie these days or any day when you think about it and know just how good the books have been over the years.

Yeah I kept expectations low for this but was rewarded by thoroughly enjoying it.
And (unlike some other studios) they didn't use up every character and story they could cram into it. Still plenty left in the tank for future stories (either in solo or team films). Giant Man, Wasp, high security prisons etc.
Reading my signature constitutes admission that I am correct. (Too late) -

I feel it's on the same level as TWS. Obviously there a many major differences but quality-wise its on the same level. Basically what TWS did for political thrillers Ant-Man does for heist films but with so much heart and being much more relatable.

You took the words out of my mind. I love TWS because it turned out to be a political thriller I didn't expect, while Ant-Man is a heist movie I didn't expect either and I love heist movies! Kind of cool too that they got one of the guys from Tower Heist to be part of Ant-Man's heist team as well.
I must admit I didn't expect much from this movie, and was worried a bit for it, but in the end, it turned out to be really great! The fact it seems going to be connected to the next Captain America makes it even better. -

Marvel knows that if they don't mix it up it'll get stale. That's why Dr. Strange is going the horror/Inception route. Black Panther will deal with country building and royalty. Captain Marvel will have a Top Gun flavor.
