I hate it when people say this about her
If Evangeline REALLY cared about what the critics thought, she would act more. She only does one movie a year (if that) because to her acting is her 'hobby.' Being a mother and a writer is her full-time job.
That's why she has been flirting with retiring, because she doesn't WANT acting to be her career.

Honestly, the fact that the Hobbit movies were so god damn awful had nothing to do with Evangeline's character.
