"there is no law against using binoculares to spy on your neighbors ." Yes, there is; some jurisdictions have Peeping Tom laws that would make this illegal. There also might be a civil case for invasion of privacy. Proving it would be hard, unless she's also spying back.

You are WRONG! If you are in your own home and looking through binoculars at ANYTHING, and happened to spy your neighbor's bedroom, or such, how is that a CRIME if the curtains of your neighbor's bedroom were open, for example? It would make no sense to blame YOU for your neighbor's actions, or in this case, INACTION: That of failure to close a curtain. Tell us at what point a crime occurs. Besides that, how can there be an "invasion of privacy," because by leaving a curtain open there CAN be no invasion of privacy, a window with a curtain drawn open is HARDLY a definition of "privacy"! It would be the same as if there were no WALLS in your neighbor's home! Your neighbor might have WANTED privacy, but your neighbor can not EXPECT privacy if the curtains are open for all the world to see.

You are correct, and I believe the same would apply if you were spying on a neighbor through his/her window if you were on a public sidewalk or street. It is the NEIGHBOR'S fault if the neighbor is seen, and not the fault of the one doing the looking.

This movie is not a documentary about the typical reaction of a normal girl. Let's say that more than 90% of girls would think of the guy as a creep, then what ? Nobody say the girl was a typical teenager having a typical normal reaction.
It's like the majority of girls who don't like bald guys, it doesn't mean that's it's irrealistic for one girl to like one bald guy, low probability # irrealistic.

I guess with the way Kale talked about what he had gathered about her by observing her he came off just genuinely interested in her and not as a pervert.

I didn't find it to be that unrealistic. It seemed like she sorta liked him upon seeing him to begin with. And she did say that she didn't know weather to be creeped out, or thought it was really sweet (or something to that effect). If it was some old dude who was a pervert I think it would had been a little more unreal.

Plus, some girls find young guys peeping on them a turn-on, don't they.

He could had probably made the argument if it were ever brought up that he was on house arrest and didn't have anything else better to do with his time. Either way it is not normal behavior, but neither is being stuck in the house not being able to go outside.

You'd have to because there's simply no way to be stupid enough to stand around naked in front of a window three times as big as you are and think nobody can see you changing.

first off all, he is on house arrest and therfor had nothing better to do. his character is obviously not the type to just peep on the neighbors he clearly did stuff such as play games hang out with friends fish with his father etc etc.
it wasnt until had none of that to do that he begin peepin on the neighborhood.
she knew that his peeping wasnt the actions of a peeping tom but were the actions of someone board and just trying to connect with the outside world through binoculars.

Surely you don't really mean that. Just from the top of my head, things to do when stuck alone in a house: read, do research, learn to play a musical instrument, learn a foreign language, play darts, learn magic tricks, learn to juggle, watch movies, make movies (challenging but not impossible; "South Park" could have been made by one person), write (Hitler wrote

in prison), study any of a million subjects (art, literature, history, science, mathematics), practice T'ai chi ch'uan, gymnastics, lift weights, practice meditation, practice calligraphy.

Yeah really, how many people complained about this basically redoing Rear Window because TODAY, NOBODY spends the day looking out their window at their neighbors? He could've done any one of a dozen things instead of playing Peeping Tom.
