Another thing about Amanda's game/test is that it's not fair for her to say "the game helped me, so it should help every out." That's BS, she got off easy! All she had to do was kill somebody and hunt for a key in their body. Everybody else had to sever their own limbs or permanently mutilate themselves to survive! I doubt that you would be praising John for the rest of your left if you had to walk around as a mutated freak for the rest of your life!

Yeah i agree with you on that, some tests are kind of easy like amanda's test, i mean physically, she doesn't hurt herself during the game, unlike other players like troy, or even dr. Gordon who made it..
The movie and its twists are amazing though -

Agreed, they are.

Very true, perhaps if she had it AS bad as Dr. Gordon's, Troy or ANYONE in the sequels, I doubt she would've even joined him.

Murder is killing for no good reason other than some form of personal gain.
I'm sure Jigsaw doesn't feel he's doing that and honestly feels whatever killing happens as a result of his methods was for the improvement of society.
He's obviously insane and wrong, but that's what's happening in his mind. I doubt he considered himself a murderer in the first film either.

Amanda did not have to hack the beep out of her "boyfriends" chest she could have simply sliced him near his stomach, pulled out the stomach. Then cut out the key from his stomach he would have survived for roughly 6hours before bleeding out.
Zepp was challenged to kill a woman and child to save himself - he didnt - he won his game. Unfortunately Dr Gordon assumed that he was Jigsaw and killed him out of fear (for his family) and anger at Jigsaw for putting him through it
Dr Gordon did exactly as he was meant to (appart from KillIng Zepp) -

I think in his warped mind to Jigsaw the difference between what he did and an average murderer is
choice
.
Even though the odds are against them, most of Jigsaw's victims had choices and ways to stay alive, where as someone just plain murdering someone is taking a life without them having a choice. -

Perhaps deep down he despises himself and why he changed the traps to not be about murder but then his assistants wanted to still murder.
Although I agree with another poster that they just changed his character later to make him more sympathetic.

I know this is an old post but I'll give mt thoughts on it anyway.
There are a lot of inconsistencies with Jigsaw's rules from the first film compared to the rest. But what a lot of people don't know is that originally the first film was a one-of with no plans of making a sequel. Leigh Whannel and James Wan (and/or possibly other people) only decided to make a sequel when Saw became such a hit, but mostly because so many fans were asking 'who is the guy in the middle of the room?', 'why was he doing this to people?', 'what happened to Dr. Gordon'? etc. So of course, as the other films were being made, they had to carefully include what had already happened in the first one, following rules as much as they can without inconsistencies, to make more sense as the series went on. They had no plan for more films, so they had to work with what was already laid out.
