Dear god, this post was so idiotic it was actually painful to read.
I mean, I actually felt myself cringing reading these words.
Xpanther you are beyond stupid. It's not nice to insult people, but after reading the tripe that was this post I felt compelled to point this out.
Your views are detrimental to the decency of mankind. Shut the beep up.

Please tell me what European films you have seen. That
      was
a huge insult to European films like The Cornetto Trilogy, Amelie and Show Me Love. Ok, Show Me Love looks kinda of shabby but then again I think it works in its favour.

America is clearly NOT afraid of sex. That's why they dominate the world, not only in overblown PG-13 comic book movies, but also in XXX porn. What they're afraid of is actual sophisticated adult content. They're afraid of movies like "Blue is the Warmest Color", not because they're more graphic than good ole' American XXX porn, but because they're not over-budgeted, mindless CGI fests aimed at terminal adolescents.
Some foreign movies with sex are bad, but then why not just let them compete on an equal playing field with American movies? If the MPAA did not hypocritically use the rating system to ban these films from most American theaters, if they were failing entirely on their own merits (or lack thereof), then the OP would hardly need to make this claim. If Americans are not afraid of movies with SOPHISTICATED sexual content, than why doesn't the MPAA just stop trying to effectively ban them by giving them anything other than an "R" rating?
