What is with the '39 kg'-trivia entry?

In trivia for this movie you can read this;
"Lim Su-jeong had to get her weight down to just 39 kg to shoot this film."
Her bio-page says she's 167cm tall, which would make that weight VERY unhealthy; body fat ratio certainly below the threshold where the female reproductive system shuts down, possibly low enough to cause organ damage.
Is this true, and if so why did she "have to" do this? -

Actually, while watching this movie, I didn't have the impression that she looked anorexic; IMO she was thinner in Janghwa, Hongryeon. But maybe I'm spoiled after watching the Machinist.

How long did she think she was a cyborg for?
Now, I'm no doctor here, but using logic I'd say that not eating will kill you. Correct me if I'm wrong. She refused to eat while she was a "cyborg", and wasn't forced until the hospital.
Terrible movie, btw.
