That's pretty funny. Oi, it's not supposed to be an art film. It's a fun movie. There are probably as many plot holes and stuff that doesn't make sense as the old Superman or something.
Don't hate me because I'm popular

And THAT statement just shows you are incapable of seeing the finer distinctions that differentiate one work of art from another. Why would Van Gogh and Monet both paint flowers?
It's been said many times that there are only 10 original plots in the world. And I'm sure there are many more variations on a man from one culture learning to relate to an alien culture and defending it from his own people. (If you think this is the story of Pocohantas, you weren't paying attention.)
Personally, I found THIS version of an ancient theme more absorbing than the two you cite - which I suspect you named just because you heard it from others. -

I really liked it & think it was one of the best films in recent history. Not only gorgeous to look at but great acting, good story and an important message (environmental destruction and persecution of native ppl) as well. I know a guy who didn't though. The reason he gave was because he thought it was too preachy and anti-military. He's also VERY Republican which explains his negative and over sensitive attitude about it. I've heard other ppl say that online too. Screw those ppl though. This movie was great. It also wasn't anti-military. It was anti-greed and a great story about how some men will do anything to exploit ppl and mother nature in order to make themselves rich. If that's too much for them to comprehend, too bad.

It's The Wizard of Oz of our time. People need to get their heads around what that means exactly. This movie is far ahead of its time in its use of 3D like The Wizard of Oz was ahead of its time in its use of color.

I still think it's a great movie after all these years, but you have to keep in mind that any movie that receives the gargantuan hype that this did is always subject to backlash. Hence why this was once in the Top 250, but has long since dropped out.
