I don't see any staff member badge in my profile. I would have been fired for edgy rhetoric. If you want to have a conversation with me, you should move it to the private message area. It would be more fair to others whom may not wish to be reading a non subject related conversation.
Actually, I just read your OP again. It really isn't so bad. I exaggerated your post as being more of a put down on someone I find very talented.
Also, I thought you said you just got done binge watching Dexter, but you only had watched two episodes at that point. You have no idea how great that series gets as it matures and finds itself. You should do this: You already know that Dexter is the killer of the serial killers, so I suggest you bite your tongue and try to put up with your dislike for JC, and skip to season 7. That is my favorite year. Then you'll see how the show has progressed, and you can either go back to where you left off, or pop in year 8 and be done with it.
I'll bet you'll like the improved JC in the later episodes. Good luck. -

"You really need a brain and personality transplant. What a unbelievably tone deaf & unpleasant shill you are for this Carpenter actress".
Thanks, I'll consider the source. I just clicked on your name and saw "all the wonderful, knowledgeable, contributions" you made in your 9 years here. That would be "ZERO".
As in -0-.
Then I read your ratings and saw the movies you liked and didn't like. You are a "Serial loser". No taste, the brain of an 8 year old, and no class.
Sincerely,
Your Pal Unknownian -

I wasn't particularly impressed by TV show dexter. For me, it's just a crime soap opera.
However, Jennifer Carpenter AND her character of Debra Morgan AND the chemistry between her and Dexter was one of the reasons I watched this show till the end.
I found her mannerism totally perfect for her role. Her and Dexter were definitely the best castings of whole show + (very) few others throughout the seasons..
Frankly, I think, it is you Teresa (and a few other females on this board) just feeling a bit intimidated by Jennifer.. and that's okay, she was just too good in Dexter. -

I watched 2 episodes, made my comment and stopped my intended binge watching of Dexter feeling it just wasn't a show I wanted to invest more time in. My main problem with the actress was her, to me, unusual way of speaking. So intimidated, no.

lol @ everyone saying you're "intimidated" or whatever
Hey, if you don't like an actress, or a character, so what?
I'll tell ya this tho:
Like you, I disliked her (the character) at first as well, not enough to make me stop watching, but she actually ended up being a superb character,
I still didn't really like her, but her character grew into one of, if not the best on the entire show.
jmo

Ha! Made ya look!

aj - Thanks for being civilized, lol. Usually people are pretty laid back on the imdb message board but some of these people were unbelievably hostile.
One guy posted a profanity laden message, thought better of it, edited out the profanity, told me he did ME a favor by cleaning it up, ranted about the actress's divorce and work schedule (like he actually knew her) and THEN he told me I was wasting other's poster's time, for me to stop posting replies and 'let's go to a private message' because this wasn't the place to continue a discussion. Oh, he also said I was thin skinned and would enjoy the message board more if I stopped being so so thin skinned. Can you believe that???
One guy called me the c word - I've reported it several times and they won't remove it.
What is wrong with people?
These are opinions and everyone has them. No need to completely loose your mind over it and act like you stopped taking your meds for a serious mental disorder.
Like I said, I watched two episodes and decided it just wasn't for me. I've never seen Carpenter before or since those two episodes and feel totally neutral to her as an actress or a person.
All I know is, what goes around comes around and the people who have exhibited this uncalled for behavior will get it right back, all crazy and out of the blue just like they dished out.
LOL, take care

You must be luckyPeople trip out like you raped their mother if you disagree with them on the boards I've been on!
I JUST finished the series last night.
It's a decent show. I didn't hate the later seasons as some, and the finale was meh-ok, not horrible. (Keep in mind I didn't invest 8 years, more like 2 weeks
)
Anyways, I suspect the show wasn't up your alley rather than her. She's a main character, but rarely does she have TOO much screen time - sans Gemma/Sons of Anarchy.
Like I said, I really didn't like her character from the start, and though there were moments I did, all in all I still didn't really like her.
Regardless, she DID evolve into a very good character. (read as, her character got better and was lesschoppy. The actress really stepped up her game as the show went on)
The 1st season, as with most series, starts kinda weak as it's, wellNew and they're figuring out the stride and all.
I've never heard of Jennifer Carpenter before this show, and I don't recall seeing her before but to her credit, she ended up nailing it.
Regardless,
peace out

No one on television is worse than Anna Gunn, and I loved Breaking Bad. She's a fantastic actress, but she constantly plays the role of beep which kind of makes you wonder if she really is one. But that's just the angle she's comfortable playing. I would never have drinks with her as a person, but I'd hate watch anything she plays in cause she is talented and I love to hate her.
