Can we migrate somewhere else?

Previously TV is an encompassing forum of TV discussion that sprang up after "Television Without Pity" went away.
http://forums.previously.tv/forum/5-shows/
I very much enjoy participating therethough I haven't had any "Mad Men" exchanges, sticking mostly with "The X-Files." From what I can tell, it's a good structure, but there aren't a huge amount of posters there. Of course, that may change when IMDb closes down.
I am baileythedog there as well. -

PreviouslyTV is where I'll go, and probably a number of other IMDb subscribers. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the site doesn't include films and actors. Not that I often look at actors' boards, but occasionally I do.
However, there are far too many other resources for casting, etc., so why should I come here anymore? No good reason I can think of; the main draw for me to come here, usually daily, was the forums.
I heard Television without Pity was an excellent forum, and for whatever reason was disbanded. Unfortunately by the time I heard of it, it was gone, so I'll register and post at Previously TV. I've read a number of threads/posts there over the past 6 months or so, and found the quality of posters to be very much like the best here IMO, of course.
I'm not wild about the format, but that's probably because it's unlike the format here, and I'm used to this. I think I'm very likely to be able to adjust to their format; it's the quality of posters that matters to me most.
I'll be Catbookss there, with the same avatar as here. Glad to see you'll be the same, as I've always enjoyed your posts, and will be easily recognizable. -

No, they won't have actor boards there but that isn't a big conversation draw for me. Usually individual shows will have threads devoted to both character and actor, though. But obviously that doesn't do much for those who like to chat about movie, not TV, actors.
I used IMDb religiously for YEARSdecades really, before I ever bothered noticing that there were forums on the site. It is still quite a valuable tool and general curiosity index. It's actual value is as a repository of production news and a link to Amazon Instant Video. And I truly do not love the format and architecture behind the boards. I can also see how the forums being overrun by trolls actually gives the site a black eye.

Yeah, again, a larger entity (in that case, Bravo TV) came to the conclusion that the forums, while well run, didn't have much economic value to them. Previously TV has taken on that same structure which I think is pretty easy to get used to, if for no other reason than it keeps people from starting numerous threads on the same topic. Plus, you have the ability to "like" other posters' comments, which I like.

Frankly, it's not for me either. Very occasionally I go to them, but more often than not there's little there for me.

And for me, I only found IMDb
because of
the boards! Specifically the Mad Men board. I must have been Googling some point about that show, when it was airing, that I was unclear about, and found this board. For a year or more I lurked, without registering, and was fascinated by the (overall) intelligence and insight of the posters here. Had it not been for this board, I'd have never come here, and certainly never registered.
But finally I wanted to join in the conversation, so I registered, and began posting. So I'd have never found IMDb, or had any interest in it, had this board not existed. I can find reviews anywhere.
I will say that it was a very rude awakening when I finally branched out and began reading other boards, which took a while. Yeah, I found a lot of trolling, and "board rage," second only to the absurd comments on YouTube. But I don't think trolling has anything to do with IMBd's decision to kill off the boards I think it's a matter of them thinking they can't monetize it enough for their liking. Bandwidth is very cheap these days, so it definitely isn't about that. Nor is monitoring, which is more automated here than not.

TV without Pity was a Bravo board? That I didn't know. Anyway, yes, I think Amazon/IMDb has made this decision based solely on economic reasons. Communities and relationships simply aren't important to them, and are therefore expendable.
I'm sure I'll be able to adjust, in time, to the PreviouslyTV forum format. I've read their forums, here and there, and found the posters there, in general, to be as good as the most thoughtful and insightful of those here. That's what attracts me. -

Who would believe tMDB has been around for eight years! More and more of us refugees are migrating there. Even though it's been eight years, the site seems to be in it's juvenile stage. The more people we can get to join, the better the site becomes as suggestions from us are taken under advisement. Please check it out.

Another option is TMDb (The Movie Database). It has boards for individual movies and TV series, unlike some of the sites mentioned so far. Here is the Mad Men board:
