TDK is quite good. Top 15 material for sure but not in the same league as the Marvel greats.
    Huh.
Many could debate the fact that TDK may be as good if not better than the MCU's best.

      Correct, it's leagues above them.

I think, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises (The Dark Knight especially) both are a superior movies and comic book movies than any MCU movie so far, especially when it comes to comic book accuracy. Nolan understood how it's important to respect the mythology from the source material, but Marvel always changes important aspects from the comics for their own sake. The Dark Knight isn't just an amazing comic book movie. It's an amazing movie in general. The Avengers Good comic book movie, but not a great movie. Lacks substance, contains of average acting, has no ambiguity to the story and the characters. It's a popcorn flick (which isn't a bad thing). The Dark Knight, of course, is more than just an entertaining movie.

Well it's kind of obvious that the other post was saying how it's weird to say something like that since it's not like the film was made 20 years ago. Three years is NOT a long time at all, and not a whole lot has changed. So really to say this movie holds up well from a VERY short time ago, is kind of silly.

What 3 years later is no time of length in the movie industry
I was just about to say the same thing. You don't say "still holds up" after only a few years.
There should be at least a decade of time passing before that can be used.
            Can't stop the signal.

It can be used one month out if the person saying it has seen it multiple times. The mark of a great film is holding up and being entertaining even if you know what is goingto happen. This film and its sequel does that.

Saw Avengers again yesterday on TV and it's amazing how well it holds up and always will. It's such a perfect movie superhero or otherwise.

It's in a loop apparently! Never gets old even though I'm more a DC devotee!

I agree that it holds up very well. I watch this movie & Winter Soldier the most.

It does hold up extremely well. I always find it a joy to watch, and I have watched it plenty since it was first released.

Holding up 3 years later is not a big deal. The Empire Strikes Back on the other hand holds up great 35 years later.

Yet at this point Avengers holds up better than Star Wars and everyoneis calling Civil War better than Empire Strikes Back. So, Marvel can keep dealing whereas Star Wars quit after three films.

You must be like 12 years old. 3 years is nothing. But it was probably 25% of your lifetime so to you 3 years is forever. Talk to me in 20 years.

Still in my top third/half of MCU films.
AOU and Iron Man 3 - not so much!

Great films like this one tend to do that they resonate throughout time.
