Think about it -
Iron man = Cyclops (shoots red energy sh!t from body parts)
Captain America = Wolverine (Enhanced with experimentation)
Hulk = Jean Grey (Dual personalities Hulk/Banner & Phoenix/Jean Grey)
Thor = Storm (controls Lightning & good looking)
Hawkeye = Rogue (Useful to villain's evil plan but a bit useless otherwise)
Loki = Magneto (Evil British villain with good acting chops)
Nick Fury = Professor X (Baldy weirdo telling everyone what to do)
Black Widow = Mystique (good at hand to hand combat & red haired)
Evil plan involves attack on New York.
Good guys win.
Man did the Avengers writers even try to hide the fact they were basically copying the sh!t out of x-men?

Did you mean to post this? I mean, besides the fact that all of the characters not only come from the same source, but most of The Avengers pre-date the X-Men.

This is hardly a rip-off. Though certainly the MCU wouldn't exist today if it weren't for the comic book movies that precede it. Blade, X-Men, Spider-Man and even the Nolan films.
