Americans dont like this kind of horror anyway, they like the nice soft stuff.
The fact that an American started this thread and states in his opening sentence that he loves this movie immediately proves your claim false. -

There's no need for a remake. It's culturally relevant already, and Americans (of which I am one so no bashing) should learn how to f-ing read. Or, you know, don't watch it.
Sorry to go all Larry Flint-but it's true.
ahh dammit I just got trolled. -

Why would you need a remake then?
Plus you know there's no way an American remake will go the same places as this film did. A remake was once planned and they said they were going to minimize the violence. -

true. even as an NC-17 it would got toned down that nothing from the original impact was left. also most NC-17 movies don't make cash. why remake something if it wasn't for the cash? also, i don't think AJ would be up for a film that doesn't make any money.

The original movie is fine the way it is. Even for those who hate subtitles, there really isn't lots of dialogue anyway. Plus, we all know the remake would probably star some teenyboppers from some crappy tv show and be rated PG-13.

"wow i love this movie , it was terrifying, even the house , lighting , setting , great acting from the two ladies"
true, but if you like it so much, why would you want this:
"I can see an american remake being made with Angela Jolie playing the part of the crazy lady !!!!!"
?????

This movie, Frontiers, Martyrs and High Tension were plenty scary enough, but the thought of Americans who don't understand how horror works ruining these movies is to terrifying for me to think about. Like that thought could keep me awake for days on end with a nightlight.

America has made some of the best horror movies around!!! foreigners are all jealous of America!!!That's why they are always bashing America

That may indeed be true but American remakes of foreign films are some of the most horrific catastrophes around. Some of them are a train wreck on top of a multi car pileup on top of a nuclear meltdown. have that happen to one of these French Films? No thank you.
