After all of the hype I read about this film on the internet when I was searching "best foreign horror films" I assumed, even though the premise sounded like something out of a made for TV Lifetime movie, maybe there was something redeeming about it
Boy was I wrong, or rather, everyone else was pinheaded for even suggesting it. I agree with what another poster implied that it did feel like it was just TRYING to be violent for violent's sake and that the amount of blood was absurd.
To others looking to find an interesting foreign horror film, I would recommend Martyrs over this any day. It was also brutal and gruesome, but it was done more artistically and the story was pretty weird, but way more original than this - IMO. -

Couldn't agree more even though Idon't consider these french movies as "horror films". They're mostly ultraviolent psycho thriller melodramas with super psychopaths or whatever. Watched Martyrs lately and ok, that vampire-like creature was reason to call this "horror", the rest was just a depressin but clever melodrama with buckets of ice cold cruelty thrown in. Don't really liked those films but then I was expecting something different because the shelfes went "Horror".

yeah man, i actually couldn't watch this one all the way through. that just NEVER happens. i mean nevernever has that happened since i grew up. it wasn't it's content really, but the subject matter. im already squeamish when it comes to pregnancy, and this tish was just too much for me. and good point how much blood DID that woman have?!

Agree 100%
Friends and I went on a foreign horror movie spree based on common recommendations from imdb and other boards. Inside was the last film of the bunch. Kinda left a bad taste in our mouths after Martyrs and A Tale of Two Sisters, which are both quite brilliant. This film was just buckets of blood with a mild backstory. I really don't see why it's so highly regarded, and I am usually very open minded. -

I understand fully why people don't like this film. I personally loved it, kept me tense for the full movie. It was very violent though. Most of the people that I have spoken with that didn't like it, had huge issue with the pregnancy.
