Where do I even start with why I abhor this movie? *SPOILERS*

So this is quite possibly one of the worst horror movies I've ever seen.
- First of all, the plot is paper thin. If they were going to make "La Femme" angry enough to become a mass murderer over a car ACCIDENT, at least make it because the boyfriend or protagonist had been drunk driving or something, and then at least there could be a "blame factor" and hence help with the suspension of disbelief. They say the truth is stranger than fiction but I've never ever ever ever heard of this sort of thing happening, despite the fact that there are worse and crazier villains in real life than the woman in this movie.
- The audio was unbearable. Most of the movie is just screaming and crying, honestly I've watched this twice now to give it a fair shot and see if I was just in a bad mood the first time. NO, it's ACTUALLY just screaming and crying for over half of the movie. If you don't believe me, time it yourself.
- The characters are all completely unbelievable and morons. It's like the world in the movie is one in which people exercise no caution or care whatsoever. Every single character just bumbles into the house and gets killed one by one, despite the fact that there is blood everywhere. Oh did I forget to mention that the house is tiny and if the main character screamed they would have heard from at LEAST the front door, if not the street? Those cops.where do I even start? They don't even call for backup before they re-enter the house, and the third one doesn't even call for backup after hearing SHOTS fired, which any cop on the face of the planet would do, particularly if his buddies just walked into a house and there were shots fired.
- What the &%(^ was with the third cop suddenly turning into a zombie and attacking everyone in sight at the end? Bizarre at best, but imo just plain ridiculous. At that point I wouldn't have minded if it had just randomly turned into a zombie movie because at least it would have then had a plot.
- The violence: I've seen over 1000 horror movies and a lot of violence, but this movie was just gratuitous violence for violence's sake, and it didn't even fit with the story, which has soft piano music at the beginning and end and completely sets itself up as a serious movie, not The Hills Have Eyes 3. Like seriously, the only scene I can even think of that has so much blood as the end scene in this movie is Dead Alive aka Braindead, which was MEANT as a horror/comedy.
- The emotional development: By the end of the movie every character was presented as so bumbling, stupid, and unrealistic that I didn't even CARE that the protagonist died and "La Femme" got the baby. I equally hated them all for being so ridiculous. That's the first time that has EVER happened to me in a horror movie, or maybe ANY movie. It would be like siding with the Alien instead of Ripley in the first two Alien movies. The characters from Porky's and Fast and the Furious had more redeeming features, seriously.
I have no idea how this movies gets a 6.9 because I am a huge horror fan, keep an open mind no matter what the plot, and have been exposed to every ridiculous story in the book, and I cannot find a single redeeming feature about this film except that it is only 1:20 minutes long. One of the worst films I've ever seen.

I agree 100%
This movie is ridiculous.
SPOILERS
Why was Sarah so quiet when she was in the bathroom anybody in that situation would of been screaming their head off hoping that a neighbor or someone walking by the house would hear them.
No why didn't Sarah hear all the people who came in the house she should have heard the front door and the talking and how in the hell did Sarah not hear her mothers voice when she said "Where is my Daughter"?
So since Sarah is "deaf" and can't hear anyone in the house and refuses to scream so they can hear her when mom goes up stairs looking for her guess what happens yep Sarah stabs mom in the neck.
I was ready to turn this Bullsh*t movie off at that point this movie is so unbelievable.
Also the gore is so over-the-top that it's unbelievable.
And what the hell was up with the random zombie what was that supposed to be about?
I give this movie a 2 out of 10. -

hahaha love it Michigan.
Yeah why was she so quiet? They even made a point of making it so you could hear what she was hearing in the bathroom, and you could hear people coming in and out! So why didn't she scream her effing head off?
The gore is COMPLETELY over the top and out of place in this movie, it's the gore that belongs in a Rob Zombie movie.
And yes, I still have yet to talk to any friend or seen anyone on this board plausibly explain the cop turning into a zombie. NOTHING made sense from start to finish. Not the plot, the characters' actions, or even the "twist" ending that was just ridiculous.
I'd go so low as a 1. Honestly, as I said in my first post, I literally only liked the fact that it was only 1 hour 20 minutes long so I didn't waste more time. Terrible terrible film. I've rarely if ever disagreed with this kind of a score on a horror movie so much. It's not just one of the worst horrors I've ever seen, it's one of the worst movies period. Glad you agree. I finished it and literally was like "What the $*%&?" -

I still have yet to talk to any friend or seen anyone on this board plausibly explain the cop turning into a zombie.
Because he didn't turn into a zombie. You're just buying into a clearly facetious claim that the directors apparently made. The cop's behaviour is easily explained in the film's context. In your OP also, your first complaint is weak. You didn't buy her motivation? Fine, but it's not particularly far-fetched and character motivations, for Horror especially.
That said, I think the film is very flawed: irritating stylised editing and techno music; idiotic characters there only to push the plot along; the lead making a harpoon as though she's Ellen Ripley. But there are tonnes of awful Horrors, even the best ones are often riddled with inconsistencies and odd characterisations. I don't see why someone who's seen so many would consider this among the worst.

Assets: I can understand all of your comments, and agree with most of them. I think in the end the reason I disliked this movie so much was simply because it didn't market or present itself as a "silly" horror like so many others. In those cases you suspend disbelief a lot more and don't expect as much in terms of realistic portrayals. Inside presented itself as a serious, "realistic" attempt at a horror/thriller, and in the end it just didn't subscribe to any sense of realism at all. Many things can be forgiven regardless, but I just thought none of the character's motivations or actions made any sense from start to finish.

I was with the movie up until the last 1/3 of it, about when the protagonist decided to stab herself. It seemed at that point the direction of the film was to make it as bloody and as over the top as possible. And while I tend to agree with pretty much all of the points you made, I still found it hard to look away from. I guess that could be in part why it has a high rating, at least for horror movie standards.

I'd still pay a lot of money to know wtf the cop turning into the zombie was all about. One of my friends suggested that by some miracle perhaps he didn't die but was still alive and very disoriented and just starting swinging at everyone, but he looked pretty dead to me. Totally pointless and ridiculous. I couldn't turn away either, but mostly just because I was hoping that at some point there would be a point to all the gore and plot holes.

my own opinion is that the main character kills herself or is killed by the personification of death, the lady in black and has entered hell at that point - the house is numbered 666 after all and I think from that point onwards we see dead people - i maybe totally wrng as the y movie was a mess in the wrong sense

Guys he wasn't a zombie lol, he had his eyes shot out - that's what the two gunshots were before. I admit I thought it was a zombie at first, but I think it was just unclear that his eyes were shot out because we'd been led to believe he was dead

Stab herself? Like when she was bleeding internally and couldn't breathe so she stabs her throat to vent the blood so she could breathe again? That felt pretty clear to me

I strongly agree with point 3, I liked the film, but it really annoyed me when she managed to kill the cop who was cuffing her..I mean seriously? That was so unrealistic, either that or French cops are morons.
The plot was a bit thin and it didn't contain any real twists, but apart from the annoying plot holes, it had me watching, wanting to find out the final outcome. I'd give it a 5.5 out of 10 -

Although your comment is over a year old, I HAD to reply to express my agreement with you. You hit the nail on the head. Several times. Terrible movie. Films like this are an example, sadly, of why you should ignore critics sometimes.

trotibi: Thanks for the agreement. Sadly, I think the movie actually started off OK, but then just got progressively more absurd as it went on. And yes, you're absolutely right about the critics. I had people telling me it was great and read several reviews that said it was a groundbreaking film. I fail to see any redemptive features to this movie except for the fact that it didn't have a long run time and get even worse. I always suspend my disbelief when watching horror films, but this one just took it way too far. Not a single character's action made sense from start to finish. Never watching it ever again. Sometimes if I don't like a film I give it a second chance down the road. In this case, I wouldn't watch this film again even if someone paid me.

It always makes me laugh when people claim that characters in horror movies didn't act rationally.
When you were last a heavily pregnant, severely depressed woman, who'd just had her face sliced open with a pair of scissors and was cowering in a bathroom, traumatized and rapidly losing blood. How rationally did you act?

More rationally than she did, that's for sure.
I've seen a lot of bad movies (and a lot of great ones) but never could pinpoint the worst movie I've seen till I saw this ridiculous thing. I can now proclaim "Inside" the worst movie I've ever seen.
I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!
