Another want to be horror film where the director has the victims seemingly get away several times only to get caught again.
Of course a girl has to run down the street and fall for no reason.
Of course the good samaritan gets killed.
Of course the victim will get a step ahead of the bad guy but not finish the job.
Of course the bad guy gets shot but doesn't die.
I guess the director thought he'd be "Edgy" by having the girl end up never getting away.
I wanted to like this movie. But it was just bad.

I agree with all except the girl running away did not fall "for no reason"- she had suffered severe smoke inhalation when she started the fire at the ATM and was wheezing and weak, makes total sense she fell after running. Smoke inhalation causes severe damage especially when it's not treated.

I don't believe it's as simple as you're making it. The setting alone is far from cookie cutter. And while there might have been some very overused or recycled scenes, there's other things you failed to take into consideration, that can easily negate your argument.
