What grocery store chain would you want to be stuck in?

After I read the short the story a long time ago, I couldn't help but wonder "what would I do if the Mist happened here" as I was in a grocery store.. It helped pass the time when I would be shopping with the family. I think Walmart would probably be the best place, as they have guns and tons of supplies, but as anyone who has been in a Walmart, you would have a lot of crazy people. I would also like a store with a pharmacy. If I am going down, I am going down filled with pain killers lol. And wine and beer don't hurt either. Publix are clean and not crazy crowded. Krogers are not bad either. But Walmart has the guns. I wonder if that is worth having to put up with all the people. Anyone else ever pass the time in a store wondering what they would do, and looking to see how much of the front is in plate glass windows, preparing for The Mist?

You have got to be nuts if you choose a store with guns.
Others are going to grab them and you run the risk of getting hit from any stray bullets because idiots are going to be shooting at anything that moves and not care or notice if you are in the line of fire.
And I have zero experience with guns so I would not be any good with handling them.
Whatever store I am in I might try and find a basement or fallout shelter.
As for weapons look around and Macgyver them.
Like an arisol can and a lighter.
Bingo.
You got a flame thrower.
Get a broom stick. Find some cloth. Cover it in cooking oil or lighter fluid. Light it and you got a torch with fire to keep them at a distance.
Or do the same thing with a string mop.
Use cans as hand grenades and throw them.
Find a garbage can or a large pot lid and you got a shield.
Etc.

I gotta agree with that. Walmart's got guns, lots of food, restrooms, and honestly, stuff to keep people entertained: toys, books, movies, etc. There'd probably be less chance of people following a religious fanatic if they can ignore her in favor of watching dvds.
So many stories, so little time.
Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't.
