Low brow

Full of caricatures and platitudes, so sophomoric. A few gems:
The simple minded, logical fallacy filled class presentation and "objections" from students in classis this really supposed to be college level? Well, yea, that's how bad college is these days. Similarly the two soldiers were supposed to be able to go any grad school they wanted? Pretty sad when those mid brow, at best, students are supposed to be smart and knowledgeable enough to get into our best schools (which, again, are sad).
The "wiz kid" makes a gross faulty analogy (and slippery slope and some other fallacies as well) between providing clean drug needles and the creation of a drunk driving lane and THAT was one of the best discussions the prof had seen? (The "discussion" couldn't have got off the ground ((in the part we don't see)), for the whole "point" he started with was pathetic, not a legitimate one of any substance: pseudo intellectualism at its finest). That's embarrassing, not even fit for junior high debates from a below average childwhat kind of sophomoric simplistic teacher was that to be impressed with that drivel? Not very bright or well read at all. The student was also shallow and a trendy amoral cynic (as well as immature and simple minded of course) again, not qualities of a deep thinker nor great intellect (the "good life" consists of material babbles? grow up man, the good life is entirely internalthe life of the mindand consists of leading a life to some purpose in the sense of moral excellence or arete and acting on that purpose in real terms, like social/political involvement and working for selfless causes you believe in). Again, what is so special about this guy? I outgrew his mindset when I was 14 (of course I am "gifted" but I mean come onthis guy is high average at best).
Oh, and the greeks? yea, and? Anyone who knows anything about philosophy/political philosophy knows that the greeks were just the beginning, and the enlightenment thinkers up to current (nozick and rawls for just two) contributed much more sophisticated thinking to political philosophy and so did even medieval and reniassance thinkers; philosophy has of course progressed way beyond the rudimentary thinking of classical greece.when will the public start to realize this and the media quit invoking the thinkers of classical greece as if they were the most exalted minds ever? Hardly, they just got things going in the western world and much of their thought is laughable as well as simplistic (all evil comes from ignorance of the good, please).
And of course the tired old "those who can't do teach" line. No, more like "those who can't think do" if you want a truer, but still simplistic insult. Besides, teaching is harder than your average blue/white collar low brow job, that's why there are so few good teachers yet so many good plumbers and mechanics and mid management office drones and their cubicle slaves. And no, I am not a teacher, but nor am I a mere "doer" like some non human animal (if you want to invoke the ad hominem fallacy here, as was repeatedly done throughout the movie: don't attack the ideas, attack the proponent of the ideas, wow, now this is high level discussion!).
Let's not even touch the politics besides that you can't fight, much less win, a war on an abstraction (terror), especially in other countries that have little to do with the threat and when homeland security is a joke. Oh, and the whole US as intellectually/morally superior theme: ha! We are the most superstitious and ignorant western democracy by any measure and the one with the most social ills which is precisely what to expect from our vulgar populace of brutes.
Could have been much better with some real writing and a longer time, but this ended up as simply insulting to any thinking person with an above average intelligence, maturity/moral sense, and knowledge of well, just about anything. -

You should turn your lens of discernment to the mirror, you supercilious grouch. Maybe one day you'll read over your words and feel a little embarrassed about yourself. Have you made it to therapy yet? Maybe denial is bliss.
Your post translates to:
"I'M SMARTER THAN ALL THE CHARACTERS IN THIS MOVIE, AND ALSO I'M SMARTER THAN ANYONE WHO LIKES IT!!1"
and you attempt to dress it up as Universal Wisdom of the Enlightened. Did it feel nice to blow smoke up your own arse? Weak. It still amazes me just how much self awareness some people lack.
I was going to mention how you've obviously read some books and ask you what area you studied at college and then relate it to how you obviously feel that your "brilliance" wasn't/isn't recognised. But let's just cut to the punchline:
Go practice your superiority complex someplace else, you narcissistic little man. -

Listen I gotta tag in
Philosophy had evolved since the geeks, yes
It actually had been very influential to our until at least the late 1800's, maybe early 1900's
But you said that contemporary philosophers have more advanced ideas
Philosophers of today, am I right?
Can I ask you how that matters when they have zero impact on the world?
When they change nothing
Whereas up till 100 years ago philosophers actually impacted our world
So they mattered
Care to elaborate?
