"I'm going to tell your mother on you!" does seem like the kind of thing that would cause
Sheldon
to stop even talking with Amy about it. His mother also made him apologize to Penny and return her clothes etc, even when he didn't think it was his fault. "She started it!" -

At that point, yeah, he didn't want to deal with his mother. Later on, after he caught her on the couch with the guy from her Bible study, he might have been more resolute. -

Amy might make a good mother, but Sheldon should NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER EVER EVER NOT NYET, ACHTUNG BABY NEIN, DA, NO NON, MAI NON, UH-UH, MM-MM, NO PHUQING WAY IN HELL, EVERbecome a father. FORGET IT

She does want to have a baby with Sheldon. She does not want to 'open her legs' so Sheldon can 'put a test subject' in there. Perfectly understandable. You don;t 'make a baby' for science, you have a baby out of love and because you want to raise a human being. This is not what Sheldon wanted when he suggested to have a baby.
