Maybe. But that would assume a condom that he has control over. Somehow that doesn't seem either sufficient or suitable for someone like Amy. I figure she has something more long-duration in mind. In part because I don't think she really expected to wait until her next birthday.

But if she was "covered", then why would she be resisting?

To quote from some other boards I've seen, "because plot."

Because she doesn't want to lie to him. She wants more intimacy because they both like it, not because he sees her as a baby maker.

That was a bit curt, sorry.
Well, maybe The Writers That Be don't want Amy to intentionally get pregnant, so that later she can accidentally get pregnant.
That's the whole thing really, the writers can - and sometimes do - do whatever they want regardless of making sense.

No need to apologize, I get what you mean lol.
I just feel that the final scene shows that Amy is (as she has been for years) more than willing to jump Sheldon's bones, she just doesn't want to do it merely for the sake of getting pregnant.

Possibly - Sheldon being Sheldon after all - she's assuming that if the intention is pregnancy, his objective will be to put sperm and egg together as quickly and efficiently as possible. Which is not a good recipe for a romantic lovemaking session!

I believe that she also wants to be more certain just what her relationship with Sheldon is and who is going to raise the baby.
I have a suspicion that Sheldon may not have thought about the latter, assuming that it would just happen.

I feel like people are missing the point. Yes it's true she craves more intimacy. And if Sheldon had planned a nice romantic evening for just the two of them and she said no I could understand peoples feelings. But that wasn't what he was doing. He wanted to get her pregnant. She wasn't saying no to lovemaking. She was saying no to a baby. I think it would have been crazy if she did give in. They are DEFINITELY not ready for a baby yet. She was being perfectly reasonable to me.'
Agreed. Sex is one thing. Engaging in it merely to pro-create isn't 'making love', or even good horny sex. Sheldon sees it as a means to an end. That is NOT what Amy wants.
Also, for the people who say she should have just deceived Sheldon, and used birth control, that's not what she wants either, imo. Again, imo, lying to get Sheldon into bed isn't what she wants. Sheldon seeing her as a test tube to mix together their egg and sperm to create a 'super-baby' isn't what she wants either. She wants an honest, open, sexual relationship.
Plus, if Sheldon ever found out they were having sex to make a baby - and that Amy was short-circuiting that goal with hidden birth control in order to keep having sex - she risks him ending the entire relationship. Besides cheating, there really aren't much more bigger trust issues than a woman lying about this subject. Now, while the opposite is worse (trapping a man by deliberately lying and saying you are ON BC, and then don't use it and getting pregnant), this scenario would likely rank as a close 2nd. Again, just my opinion. But I think Sheldon would go nuts if he found out Amy manipulated him in that manner. And we've seen that it's nearly impossible for this group to keep any secret. So if she confided in Penny or Bernie that she was on BC, you could bet your bank account that it would get back to either Leonard or Howard, and then to Sheldon. So Amy would have to keep such a secret a COMPLETE secret. Clearly, by her actions, that's not even an option that entered into her head. I think it says a lot about her character and who they've written her.

There was no love behind his come ons, so they weren't appealing.
