I agree with 'more like mother', and after all, she raised a kid to adulthood and the actress herself is 50 I think. And Raj, despite being in his mid-30s (actor is 35) acts much less mature than that.
As to hispanic character being a cleaning person, just two words: "Miss Housekeeping". We are all living in Trump's America now.

All of the cleaning people at my company are hispanic.
I believe that is the situation in large parts of the United States, and it is certainly the case in Southern California.
Making the cleaning ladies Irish would not be very realistic at this point. -

So far (in this thread) the math says 71% believe this storyline could be the one to breathe new life into the show. I know I am personally looking forward to seeing where the writers take them.
To me, Isabella is more
interesting
than his last two girlfriends. Emily had the personality of a macabre dishrag and Claire had too much of the cocky stinkface going on. Isabella seems kind and mature, and like she could have an interesting backstory.
Plus Raj needs to grow up some and she could be just the one to open his eyes to that. And she's funny and spunky- which is what is needed for a sitcom romance.
She's getting my vote anyway.
I don't think I've ever looked for frogs under my butt while I was wearing my Snow White gown. -

Not a fan of the storyline so far. Why can't somebody be single without looking all the damn time?
And not a fan of the possible relationship either. Isabella is considerably older, has an adult child, and yes, is a cleaning lady. They don't have much in common. -

I'm definitely YAY! It was a change of pace, and it showed that he had top get real with her when he stuffed up. Someone who won't take any crap will be good for him. Even if it's not an end game relationship, it will help push his character forward. Issabella is a good character.

Its one thing to date a women in a position like a janitor, but its another one to date a women so much older than him with a kid. I mean, why is working as a janitor even a big deal. For a guy like Raj, his main selling point is going to be his job and his money. That won't be very effective against women who have successful careers.

Nay for me here. In fact I would prefer no more girlfriends for Raj or at least no episodes long search for one. Considering that Raj's story lines rank under Shamy storylines, Plenny stories, and Howardette stories in importance. So that might mean every 4 or 5 episodes we get a snippet of Raj's love life.
Riddle me this Lemons. How do you think that this older woman, single immigrant mother who works as a janitor is going to react when she discovers that Raj likes to read comic books and watch second rate science fiction (to use Amy's phrase). Is Isabella going to join in or roll her eyes and think how childish ? Can you see Isabella sitting around eating take-out with the whole gang ? The whole gang is going to be in for a surprise when Raj brings Mrs. Robinson over for vintage video game night, as will she.
I think this storyline is going to be soon dropped like so many others.
When I first saw Raj by his telescope I thought that maybe he would be doing something scientific or discovering the Death Star and was excited. But no ! Just another kissy face romance in the works. Also there is only room for three Besties, and the Besties that are would not approve of this. And what would Raj's parents say about this ?
I also think she might be a bit of a snob as her "now you know how it feels" comment might be a more of an elite Cuban not wanting to be compared with a work-a-day Mexican, or Raj, an elite Indian not being on the same status level as a Pakistani.
But I do have to say that she just might become as boring as Raj eventually.
