Of course it can and needs to be performed for medical reasons, like phimosis, but the US medical establishment propagation for its reasoning of health and hygiene is a hyped up fallacy so they can profit from it. It is sick and repugnant.
Why are STD's including HIV more prevalent in the US than most anywhere else after Africa, if they are advocates of circumcision? As for the religious point, that is just deluded and absurd reasoning.
One does not need it done, for it is not a necessary requirement, only for cosmetic and even then the foreskin can be kept retracted depending on the individual. And who gives a **** about what women like either. They are the first to jump up and down if something is done to them without their consent.
