what. I somehow have a hard time believing this. I don't know why Jay would ever do this, and I don't know why Conan would ever agree to it. The best thing Conan can do now is just completely put Jay behind him after the mess he and NBC have caused. Conan needs to be looking ahead and not at the past troubles of The Tonight Show

Executives at NBC are reportedly against the idea of Leno making a classy appearance Conan O'Brien's show to wish his former colleague well.
And that's exactly why it won't happen.
Jay will listen to his bosses at NBC and that's that. -

If this is real and NBC is forbidding Leno to do it, they're even more stupid than we already knew they were.
I just can't see why O'Brien would want to do this, he's finally not attached to Leno anymore and he's going to be there in his first show on a new network? It's clear why Leno would want to do it but why would Conan want to? Having him over after a few shows, why not. But not on premiere night. -

Jay would get through it by laughing awkwardly, telling jokes no matter how awkward the situation got, and not looking Conan in the eyejust like he did with Jimmy Kimmel.

Yup. Then he'll start complaining about how he was sucker punched and how he is a victim of an unprovoked attack. That's Leno's cowardice. -

Maybe its a way to say everyones over it
That sounds like a very good reason to do it right there. Conan and Jay demonstrating that they are, indeed, over this chapter would be setting a good example for everyone to follow. -

That idea sounds ok, but only on paper.
In reality, the rowdy audience would boo The Chin right off the stage!!! I have to say, sounds like great TV!!! -

I'm sure everybody who enjoys hating would adore it. -

I think having Jay and Conans first real conversation on t.v. would be bad I don't think they should have any public confrontation for a few years if not ever. I would love to see Jay get booed off stage but if a Leno fan were in the audience that night it could get ugly.
We lost the remote The Tonight Show came on there were no survivors. -

i hope leno never comes on the show! he'll ruin the mood and the fun! yeah, he may only be on for a bit, but once he has tarnished those floors with his presence, the show will be ruined! if he wants to make good with conan and his audience, a live phone call will suffice, but we don't need to see that talentless hack on our conan show! that's just how i feel about it. haha!
