The Biz: Will Conan O'Brien Be Back on NBC?
There's a chance Conan O'Brien could return to NBC's airwavesalbeit very briefly. The Television Academy of Arts and Sciences has reached out to O'Brien about appearing as a presenter on the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which airs August 29 on NBC. O'Brien, whose Tonight Show is among the nominees for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series, departed from NBC in February after seven months as Tonight Show host (with a $30 million-plus payout of his contract).
The offer to appear on the Emmys came just after NBC Entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour Friday morning that he had "no issue" with having O'Brien on the awards broadcast despite the bitter breakup. According to O'Brien's longtime executive producer Jeff Ross, O'Brien hasn't decided whether to attend the Emmys as a presenter or a nominee. He has just started work on his new late night show that premieres in November on TBS.

    Will Conan Do the Emmys?
The ball's in your court, Coco: NBC Universal TV chief Jeff Gaspin just told Vulture that he would have "no issues" with Conan O'Brien appearing as a presenter on next month's prime-time Emmy awards. "As long as he's not hosting, I'm fine," Gaspin said. So will the TV Academy ask O'Brien to appear? If asked, will Conan serve? We've e-mailed O'Brien's reps and the Academy and will let you know if they have any response. Update (5:45): Vulture can confirm that the TV Academy contacted O'Brien's camp this afternoon, not long after we reported the above. So will Coco do the show? No word yet. The man's busy getting ready for his new TBS gig, and he may ultimately decide it's not worth all the drama (or effort needed to prepare funny material). It could be a few weeks before there's any movement on the matter. Stay tuned!
Im thinking he should skip it.Focus on the new show.
"As long as he's not hosting, I'm fine," Gaspin said.
There really wasnt any need to say that but thats NBC for you.

I think he should he won the nomination fair and square. Spmetimes NBC reminds me of a kid I ride the bus with. He calls me retarede when he is not carrying a full load.
NBC coming out with a good show is NOT the event.

I think it'd be great for him to present. It'd be good promo for his new show, too. But I think Conan might turn it down.

And wow, talk about completely unneccessary.

How does Gaspin still have a job?

Seriously. What an a-hole thing to say. Have some decency. I actually can't believe someone would be so stupid as to say something like that.

When NBC gets bought out heads will roll, mark my words. If they'd done all of these a-hole maneuvers and had made money at it, that would be different. But Comcast is going to look at the bottom line and the fact that they're losing money right and left, and they're going to fire a whole bunch of people. Which would be apropos and which I'm thoroughly looking forward to.

NBC and my school district both SUCK
sadly once the "retards are out it will
take years to fix the damage.
