She was tying to create some symbolic enabler to force herself to leave (Walt, and all that involved).

She wanted to get away from it all free her mind, and leave the difficult decision up to chance. But then she realized she wasn't strong enough and did not have the courage to do it so she moved it back to NM.

Exactly. I think it was just another way they wanted to portray skyler's desire to leave, and hoping to let the quarter decide for her. But ultimately, she couldn't go through with it.
