Why didn't Bryan Mills rescue Amanda?

I'm sure he would have rescued Amanda had she been alive, if only because she might have been a more useful informant than the girl with the jacket and becasue she spoke better English and was drugged and abused for a much shorter time period.

Try paying attention to the movie before posting these clueless threads.

That's one of the few problems I had with the movie. It appears that Bryan leaves the other women to their fate in the brothel. Maybe the cops eventually show up, but it would have been nice for Bryan to make an anonymous call to the cops.
And it would have been nice for his daughter to have had some reaction to her friend Amanda dying.
Maybe those parts were filmed and left on the cutting room floor. Maybe Besson wanted the audience to believe Bryan was a tough parent willing to make the hard decision to let the other women die to complete his mission and save the daughter he love. Who knows? -

Call the cops? The same cops that were being paid off by Albanians? Great idea. -

Why call the cops if 1) They're paid off by the Albanians, and 2) They would already be on their way there anyway due to all the shots fired? Calling them would've been a waste of what little time he had.
The movie isn't about Amanda and Kim, it's about Bryan rescuing Kim, I highly doubt they wanted to spend money filming a five minute scene where they're in the hospital and Bryan tells Kim that Amanda is dead. Some things are better left off screen than on screen.
Wait a secondwhat the hell do you mean by "Make a hard decision to let the other woman die."? Amanda was already dead, there was absolutely nothing Bryan could've done for her, and the other girls would've been treated by the ambulances that got called in after the cops showed up, I mean hell what are they gonna do? Go in and put a bullet between each girls eyes and say they were like that when they got there? Odds are it's not the entire police force there that are corrupt, someone would notice that they're digging department issued slugs out of their skulls. -

Face it, Amanda was a devious, lying little slut. Aside from the fact that she was dead, her antics were what dragged Kim into this maelstrom of horror and filth in the first place. I'm sure Kim had enough time to start holding a serious grudge and as for Papa Bryan, he probably figured his ex-wife could hold Amanda's parents handsif she wanted to. They should have instilled some basic decency into their daughter when they had the chance. She arrived in Paris wanting to get laid, and she did. End of (her) story.

From what little we saw of Amanda, she was just an ordinary young girl making decisions from a position of inexperience. Her intent was never to cause her friend any harm, and like most people raised in relative wealth and security simply failed to consider the consequences of her actions, which were at the most extreme end of the list of possibilities anyway.
'Devious, lying little slut' is awfully exaggerated, don't you think? -

Of course it's an exaggeration. A girl doesn't even need to have sex to be labelled a slut now. Misogynistic bs. The previous poster almost seems to believe she got what she deserved. Why? She was a young, excited girl having fun in Paris. She made a big mistake, but that's what people do. Wanting a holiday fling does not make a woman a slut and I bet no one would use that word if we were discussing a male character.
Agreed, Amanda was a normal free-spirited teen girl.

what you have to understand is that Bryan might still kind of be pissed at Amanda. after all, she's the one that started this whole problem, and had it not been for her, Kim would be safe and sound. i'm not saying Bryan was glad she's dead, but his anger at her and his grief for her probably balanced out, and thus, he felt neutral about the whole thing.
