If Peter had a girl with him, perhaps working against her will by posing as his girlfriend, so that Kim and Amanda would be a lot less suspicious.

Your point is flawed for two reasons.

1. They weren't suspicious, they gladly shared a taxi with him so what the hell are you talking about?
2. Considering his job was to charm girls into liking him how the hell would a 'girlfriend' have helped the plan?

For plot reasons, the girls had to be charmed by an obvious sleaze but it's hard to believe that they wouldn't be suspicious in real life. But that's Hollywood

He didn't appear that obvious to me. How many times do girls go home with a guy they met in a bar? There are times I've chatted a girl in a bar and when her friends were ready to go home they asked if I was OK looking after their friend because she wanted to stay on with me.
