In case you were wondering who the winner is, she's the one in the middle, in red.

I agree with living and let living, but this is nothing more than virtue signaling and attempts to pat themselves on the back for progressive brownie points. This is an insult and nothing more than tokenism.
Edit: Between this and "Miss" Maryland, it's become a total embarrassment. Pageants, however unpalatable, were always meant to showcase the unobtainable image of perfection. This is a slap in the face to all of the women who worked their asses off to present themselves as role models of fitness, health and beauty. Glorifying morbid obesity like this and rewarding it with sashes, crowns and titles isn't the message we need to be sending.

I'm like this…
I don't care what people do with their lives as long as they aren't hurting me or someone else. I don't purposely seek out opportunities to belittle or denigrate others especially if they've never done a thing to me.
It all reminds me of how we Blacks and other minority groups are treated for looking and/or being "different".

Again, this is not about infringement. She can be whatever size she chooses and live her life however she wants. As you said, and I agree, as long as what people are doing is only affecting their own lives and not infringing on others, I don't really care. But her "winning" this is indeed infringing on all of the other contestants who entered in good faith.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this "win" is nothing more than a token achievement, at best. I don't care about people looking different. The world would be boring if we all looked the same.
However, I believe in winning on merit, and anyone objectively, that's the key,
objectively
viewing this pageant and legitimately feeling she won fair and square, is kidding themselves.
This isn't about how people are being treated in life. This is about a specific pageant that has always represented a balance. This woman should feel embarrassed that she "won" this purely so the governing body could check certain boxes. No one's denying anyone's right to exist however they choose in life.

I honestly don't care about all of that, Lilith, if I'm going to be real here. I couldn't care less about beauty pageants these days or who wins/loses them. I care even less about why they won or lost.
I'm not trying to be harsh or anything, but my day-to-day life doesn't involve concerning myself with unimportant matters that have zero bearing on my own existence. Life is short enough as it is, and I'm not going to waste it worrying about why some overweight woman won a beauty pageant.
The key to life is to spread positivity not negativity.

No worries, it's all fine. I'm not invested in this topic, or in many topics. I simply make threads when something of note pops up in my news feed. And today, this is what came up. I also post about the lives of dogs and cats who have no place in my life, but I find them curious or interesting topics of discussion. I'm not viewing this like a life-or-death issue here. It's just a
topic du jour
. I don't care about pageants either.
Some of my comments are relevant, however, as what also pops up in my feed are things like biological men being allowed in women's spaces, such as women's locker rooms at the gym. Those topics in and of themselves have the potential to impact me far more than a beauty pageant. You'll find that I also posted about that locker room issue before.
Just like when I post about a movie or song, it doesn't mean I think some new movie is personally going to affect my life, or anyone else's life, but we still post about totally random stuff that comes across our desks.

I totally get that and understand where you are coming from but as with most topics of conversation around here, there will be those of us who agree and disagree with the posted content.
I just so happen to disagree. There may be others who agree and that's fine. The world keeps turning on its axis and life goes on.

Wrong.
What you just did here is a whataboutism. Race is a separate and distinct issues. There is no similarly except both weight and race are subject to discrimination.
In this case, discrimination on the basis of weight is correct and arguably the moral thing to do. This is just as unfair as allowing that massive 6’6 swimmer man to pretend he’s a woman, ruining the dreams of would-be champion female swimmers. This is a disgrace.

There was no whataboutism here, Gigachad.
Let me break it down to you in simple terms…
Discrimination is discrimination no matter who it happens to. You can give a thousand reasons why you think it is right to hate on this person, but they'd all be WRONG.
The reason I brought RACE into it is this…
Many of the disgusting things that are being said about THIS woman have been said about Blacks and other POC, the disabled, and anyone who was physically DIFFERENT from the majority because they didn't fit into this tiny bubble that defines the popular standard of beauty and were deemed UNACCEPTABLE as a result.
Look up:
Sarah Baartman
It's all based on physical appearance. I see it on this forum every single day.
The point I was trying to make with my post is not difficult.
You may think Megan thee Stallion is fine, but I guarantee some will think she's fat and ugly because she's a black girl with a big butt and curvy body.
This is the problem with many people, they aren't satisfied to let people just be and feel the need to impose themselves and their beliefs on others. She's fat, it's her business. I'm sure she knows she's fat and needs to get in shape, she doesn't need you or anyone else to tell her that. I don't feel threatened by her and neither should you.

Blah blah blah
She joined a bloody beauty pageant! and showed up super obese 400 maybe 500lb! She did not deserve to beat those poor women who were probably killing themselves to look good.
Now imagine it. The woke moron judges crowned this huge woman , who is objectively unhealthy, the queen of Alabama. Great! Awesome! So maybe all the ladies trying to be Miss 2025 will start binge eating and get diabetes. What a good thing.
The woman did not deserve to win. She can be as fat as she likes but she shouldn’t have won. This is a disgrace!

She WON. Get over it, crybaby!
Have you ever been to Alabama??? Judging by your posts I'm fairly certain you have NOT. I'd say she was a very accurate representation of the average Alabamian female.
The pageant wasn't about weight or beauty anyway which has been explained to you multiple times by multiple people.
She was selected by a panel of her peers and got the crown. The best thing is no one can take that away from her. Hatred is NOT cute, Vlad.

Her peers probably looked just like her plus or minus a few pounds.
I also wish you fools would stop misusing the word "woke". It doesn't apply to everything you don't like.
Black folks have been saying "stay woke" since the 40's but as soon as White America discovered that little colloquialism, you began to overuse it and run it in the ground. Stop already, Jeez!
Every damn thing is WOKE. WOKE this. WOKE that. WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKE!
