I agree that Polanski's filmography is better than Streeps, but Polanski obviously has way more control over the quality of his films, as a director, than Streep does as a performer.
Comparing them as actors is much more fair.

There's huge and obvious differences: Trump is a president and depended upon to set an example publicly, Polanski makes movies and allegedly had sex with an underaged girl. The things Streep noted were done in public, on camera, undeniable, and by the leader of a mob.

What, because she plays characters in movies she understands them? Bullsh!t. Streep has no clue what it's like to be a blue collar family that has to watch their money and worry about paying their bills.
