Poor Carice had a bit of a meltdown this morning

Typical intolerance of the "tolerance-imposing" left. As to being "liberal", they're not. They use the word because it sounds good to the ignorant but they made it a hollow shell. No true liberal wants the state to regulate things like they do.

Idiot false equivalency strikes again! A person declining to associate with racists is merely enacting a personal choice that has no systemic implications. Whereas a racists politics and actions are enabling a system that has a long history of brutalizing, disenfranchising, and impoverishing people of color.
I have zero interest in tolerating anyone's bigotry. Thanks. -

Being followed on Twitter is not an association. There is nothing to choose in that respect, either you tweet or you dont. This is the choice you have. It was equivalent to tell people of a certain group not to be there to look at her when she walks down the street. It was like a writer telling some people not to read his books. It was the expression of personal rejection based on the choice of an election-whore over another. It was the expression of blank generalization those allegedly inclusive people profess to refuse at every turn. It was both dumb and hypocritical. It was outright violent and unforgiving, as we know the left has always been.
Your equation of all Trump supporters with both racists and bigots is just another example of this blank generalization. Ill leave you to claim that principle for yourself. I know people vote based on more criteria than just the one you think represents your own fears. I also know personal rejection only serves to fix enemies. It has its virtues in war, not in civil situations. It is one thing to reject opinions and another thing altogether to reject the people holding them.

Dude, if you voted for Trump, you deserve to be shunned by every last GOT cast member on twitter. You just elected a fascistic demagogue. Youve legitimized a torrent of hatred against immigrants, racial, ethnic, and religious minorities. And you did it knowingly. The maliciousness, anxiety, and danger youve helped inflict on these people is not equivalent to a celebrity merely voicing her wish that you not read her tweets anymore. Something she took back a few hours later. Sadly, there is no taking back the hundreds of hate crimes that have occurred since that fateful Tuesday when Trump was elected.

Twitter is often an interactive experience. One in which every user has the right to block whomever they please. But continuously blocking followers can be tedious. Carice was well within her rights to ask Trump supporters to unfollow her, even if it was an unsavvy PR move.

People vote based on a plethora of criteria. In this case, even if they voted for Trump despite his hate-mongering rhetoric, they still knowingly facilitated and invigorated racism with their vote. That is truly violent and unforgiving. Only some Trump supporters are racists and bigots. The rests are enablers. Liberalism has nothing to do with tolerating intolerance. But it is very much concerned with denouncing it and vigorously.

Normalizing bigotry by embracing the bigot only serves their cause. The german people did just that and we all know how that ended. The KKK can have their victory parade (it's next month btw), but do not expect me to attend and cheer. Or to keep silent of my distaste with the people who emboldened them.
