My point, FK, is you're upset that Hillary Clinton, who is a Democrat, lost. You're upset because she lost to a Republican. You don't care about her, you care that your preferred US political party lost an election. So you're partisan.

That's part of it. The other part is our primary system. Many (most?) voters in the primary don't vote for the person they think is best for the job, they vote for the person they think has tgere best chance of beating the other guy. Guess that's pretty partisan though.
