how do you envision it playing out?
keep in mind budget restrictions will stop it being a truly LOTR style battle.
my view of it is like spartacus sort of.
after the wall comes down at the end of season 7, things screw up fast. dany is mired in political struggle. eventually she takes half the army to fight the night king after vastly underestimating him. it fails and she's slaughtered.
then episode 6 is jon's final stand with an undermanned army. -

Exactly.
He knows it. D&D know it. HBO know it. Everybody f-cking know it. He better be back

I like your suggestion.
And if Netflix spend so much money on mediocre shows (basically every new big show they have has a budget bigger than GoT's) I believe HBO can step up and give Sapochnik the resources he needs for the most epic battle in cinematic history (no exaggeration at all). But as you said, I'd really rather have Jon in the last battle than Dany

I see it as being a mixture of the opening of the season 6 finale, Hardhome and Blackwater, but of course on a much bigger scale. This is how I think it will play out:
Basically the Night King has pushed back Jon and Dany's forces all the way down south towards King's Landing. The army of the dead are seemingly unstoppable and the human forces are almost spent. Cersei is still on the throne but she has gone full mad queen, she lost her baby and Jaime has abandoned her. She has Qyburn spread the remaining wildfire all over King's Landing and she plans to blow it all up taking both man and white walker with it as the Mad King had envisioned.
Jon leads an army that is combined of all the remaining houses plus Dothraki and Unsullied. Stark, Lannister, Targaryan and others finally coming together for the same cause. They fight as best they can, but the Night King's forces are getting over the walls and overwhelming the city. Cersei approaches the wildfire under the city with a torch. Jaime finds out and chases her. He tries to talk her out of it but she does't listen and she goes to light it, but Jaime runs her through with his blade, fulfilling the prophecy. He wails at what he has done as the torch touches the wildfire, and he dies with Cersei in his arms as the wildfire sets off resulting in a gigantic explosion that wipes out a massive portion of the dead army, but also a lot of humans also. King's Landing is all but a flaming ruin.
The Night King seeing that a large portion of his army has just been wiped out, enters the city personally and goes to the Red Keep, Jon and a few surviving characters give chase. The Night King enters the ruined and snow covered throne room - the same Dany saw in her vision, and approaches the throne, eyeing it with some amusement. Jon enters also and charges at the Night King with a flaming Longclaw. The two have an intense duel in front of the snow covered throne, though NK eventually overpowers and subdues Jon but doesn't kill him. Instead he makes Jon watch as he walks up to the throne. For the first and only time we hear the NK speak, and he has a monologue talking about how man has done this to themselves and what he his doing is bringing their salvation - there is a montage of all the events throughout the series, of previous characters dying in the never ending struggle for the iron throne. Then he touches the throne and smashes it into thousands of tiny ice pieces. The last vestige of feudal society has been destroyed.
The Night King goes to finish Jon off, until Drogon smashes through the roof and breathes a barrage of fire on the Night King. The NK is weakened but he still has enough strength to throw his blade and pierce Drogon through the chest. Jon sees his chance and runs the NK through with his blade, stabbing multiple times and ripping out the dragon glass in his heart. The NK crumbles and is no more at last. Jon walks up to Drogon who is drawing his last breathes, and sadly pats him before he dies as the last dragon.
The end is either Jon and surviving characters trying to build a new non feudal society amongst the ruins of Westeros - basically a democracy. Or they sail far west to seek out new lands, as Arya had wondered.

I like your ideas, especially the first three paragraphs, then Idk what I want because I want the Nights King to die but I don't think I want Jon vs. Night King battle i want something more epic idk how to make the death of the Nights King epic but I think they can do it! I also think if this doesn't happen, as in the white walkers making in to Kings Landing and Cersei flaming the place (which I would absolutely love" then I would want Sansa to go south against Cersei while the everyone else is North fighting the Walkers, because I think at the end Sansa will be queen, but I am unsure on how it will happen!

Thanks I appreciate your compliments - I've had time to think this ending over the past couple of years, and this is how I see it happening. I don't see how how Drogon flaming the NK, and then Jon going crazy on him isn't a suitably epic ending for him, but hey give some suggestions to how it could be more epic.

Ya I agree that's more epic than anything I can think off, maybe instead of epic I should say more unexpected, like a truce between the people and Nights king or, like death of all majic like dragons and white walkers are gone idk honestly! But I know it will be great!
