Music has a LOT of rules, music is mathematical, 12 notes, circle of fifths, that kind of thing. There is a lot of stuff out there that I would call music even though I can't stand it myself but hippety hoppety rappity is not among them, it just NOT music. I would never try to put it in a box, it belongs in the toilet.

I just noticed this hippety hoppety rappety part listed under Music. This is WRONG as hap hup rop has got nothing to do with music. hep hap and rup is just talking to a dumb beat, no more no less. Oh, and it kills your braincells (judging by my oberservation of who actually listens to it).

That's a tough one. But to me it means it at least needs to have a melody. And it should be able to make me cry or make me very happy or have some effect on me, give me goosebumps.
Hundreds of years ago we had the absolute masters of music: Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. The big three. They composed songs and wrote melodies that to this day are able to touch people, and they will forever. Normally things get better over time, except for music. After classical music everything dumbed down. Sooooooo sad.
From the beautiful Clarinet Concerto from Mozart which is truly divine we are now in the era (and have been for some time now) where black folk TALK to a DUMB BEAT and whine about their BITCHES and BLING BLING and that they demand REPSECT.
It's clown world. It's thanks to the likes of MTV, they started promoting all that crap.
Music is dead. Unfortunately. -

You only know music when you hear it. A ticking clock is melodic, and can make you feel emotional, under the right conditions.
Unfortunately, hip hop
is
music. It's just not very sophisticated. It's low art. I guess we need low art to appreciate high art.
Music is highly subjective. I don't agree with you on the big three. I'm a big JS Bach fan, but I don't like Mozart and Beethoven does little for me, to be honest. I appreciate their talent, it's unquestionable, but I don't enjoy their music. And that's a reflection of my tastes, not their talent.
Have you heard of Einaudi? We're not going backwards. The problem is that as the years go on, the less sophisticated and less intelligent breed the most, and therefore our culture is diluted. It means that the masses want something that matches their less sophisticated, less intelligent tastes. There are still great musicians out there, they just aren't mainstream.
Check my block list because you're probably on it. -

A ticking clock is rythmic, not melodic. That's the trouble with all those hippety hoppety rappety dudes, that talking to some primal beat, it's barbaric, it's savage, it appeals only to the lowest life forms.
Have I heard of Einaudi? Aber natuerlich habe ich ein Audi! Ein TT.
