I agree. His screen time was very short, but incredible.
A side note that you may or may not know: The routine of pounding his chest and humming was something that Scorsese and DiCaprio saw McConaughey doing on his own before his camera time. It's something that he does to calm himself and prep before acting. They loved it so much that they asked him to include it in the movie.

        Uh.no.
His scene with Leo was funny and entertaining, but Oscar worthy?
        Seriously?

Anthony Hopkins won BSA for Silence of the Lambs and he was barely in that movie as well. There are no small roles, only small actors.

I'm pretty sure Hopkins was in Silence of the Lambs a lot longer than McConaughey was in this. But I agree MM was incredible!

I'm with you. MM did a great job, but Oscar worthy not so much.

If he was nominated he might had split the vote for himself for the Best Actor award.

If he had 15 more minutes of screen time he would have been a lock.

Disagree. By the end of the film I forgot all about him. He did great but I need a lil' more than "Mm Hmm Hmm" for me to think this guy needs awards.

But MM won Best Actor that year (for "Dallas Buyers Club").

I honestly think his 10 minutes in this movie were better than his role in DBC.

Hated his acting in wolf of Wallstreet and DBC. Imo he was always a terrible actor 👎
