Why do people cower to tolerance?

Yeah, that tends to happen when you start demonizing an entire group of people who have absolutely no control over the way they are. It would be like saying redheads are immoral, and talking about the 'redhead lifestyle'. -

^^^ that and the fact that every christian without exception fails to live up to their own ideology in some way or (usually) many ways, yet somehow some of them have the time and the need to single out and chastise other people over the "sin" of homosexuality which jesus never even felt the need to reference in the bible's new testament. there is no reason to respect such ridiculously random hypocrisy. done and done.

I don't have a problem respecting someone's religious beliefs. The problem is when they use those beliefs to try and dictate what others can and cannot do. Once they do that they are fair game.
Also, too many of them say horrible things about others and then start crying persecution and free speech when someone goes after them.
