The GW Bush scandal rocked the USA when we all found out out of the hundreds of billions we were spending on our military, the hospital systems for injured vets coming back was completely substandard. Too much money spent on contractor profiteering and not enough on health care for the soldiers.

Agree 100%. When I was watching the movie, I thought of - was it Donald Rumsfeld? - when a reporter asked him why our military didn't have vests, equipment, armor, etc. they should have had, and he responded something like "you have to work with the army you have". Bleeping Bush administration was too bleeping busy making sure their buddies (Halleburton, et al) raked in big bucks while our men and women were killed or horribly wounded because they didn't have a ordnance and equipment they should have. I feel the same way about the Wounded Warriors. I think they do wonderful work and admire them greatly - I'm not being critical of them - but the damn government should be the ones taking car of these soldiers.
Sorry to rantthis just really pisses me off. -

Yes indeed.
In addition to healthcare and equipment, another major issue regarding care of servicemembers is the mentality and egos of military leaders, both NCOs (non-commissioned officers, AKA sergeants) and officers. I myself served in the US Army for 3 years (2009-2012), and one of the main reasons why I didn't re-enlist is the fact that way too many NCOs and officers abuse their authority and get away with things they shouldn't, such as neglecting the well-being of soldiers and sometimes even harassing soldiers. They aren't supposed to do those kind of things; I do know that the NCO Creed includes looking out for the welfare of soldiers and placing their needs above said NCO's needs, as well as not using rank for pleasure, profit, or safety. Sadly, not enough actually abide by those parts.
I know abuse of authority happens everywhere, but it's really severe in the military. -

The VA scandals have certainly improved under Obama, haven't they?
Poor veteran healthcare has been a chronic problem long before Bush was President. I agree it's disgraceful how poorly sick veterans are cared for, but that's because they are in the loving care of a government bureaucracy, funded and overseen by Congress.
Maybe you should look into how many contractors there are profiteering off of the VA. Makes Haliburton look like a piker. -

O/P & the rest of you ought be ashamed (if not slapped!) for your disrespect to the fallen hero ,,political B.S. interjected rather than realize & be proud that the assortment of civilians honored the fallen all along his way home ,strangers ,men and women from the kid driving Cpl.Chance to the airport ,the ground personnel on the tarmac ,the pilot & passengers the truck driver & others in there vehicles and so on. I never knew the efforts taken by so many to honor a fallen hero other than the basic graveside steps taken & am proud men who were K.I.A. are treated in such a manner! most didn't put on there gear for a Democrat or Republican ,a man or woman ,they did so for a Nation & its people (take a bow you disrespectful creatons ,they did it for evin you ~sad to say).
