Saddam Hussein boasted to his would-be, potential foes in the Arab community (Iran) that he HAD Weapons of Mass Destruction to keep THEM at bay. After all, they knew he gassed his OWN people (the Kurds) before. Well, George Bush simply called his bluff! Saddam was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He couldn't reveal to his enemies in the region that he really DIDN'T have WMD's, because then he risked attack by them. Hussein gambled that the U.S. wouldn't invade his country. HE LOST!!! To my way of thinking, Saddam Hussein and his two sons, Uday and Qusay, WERE human Weapons of Mass Destruction, and the whole world is better off now that they're decomposing in the ground. The grandest sight I ever beheld was seeing Saddam standing on the scaffold, with the noose around his neck. WHOOSH!!! Where'd he go? To Hell, baby, to Hell!!!

VERY WELL SAID, WILDFIRE.
Twelve years of piddling around with UN inspectors, God only knows where all those WMD's were squirreled away.
Somehow, this keeps getting DRRRRAAAAAGGGEEEDDD up, "Where are the WMD's?" Somehow I don't think we would have put as much lives, time, energy, and money into a war on a complete fabrication. -

Conservatives: Praise the Military men and women which this Movie Honors. and does not bring Politics into it.
Liberals: Use any excuse to spew their views and politics, Even on a Movie which LEAVES POLITICS OUT OF IT.
Way to go Liberal
Take your crap elsewhere.

I'm going to take issue with this rubbish. Saddam gassed something like 5000 Kurds, so it's okay to invade and be responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths? You are right in saying that Saddam could not afford for his enemies in the Middle East to know he had a busted flush, but was it really worth the lives of one million, yes million people that will have died by the time this fiasco ends? And this is what, to install democracy just like in Afghanistan where Karzai has just corrupted his way to regaining the Presidency? Have you people learned anything? You remove a dictator you placed yourself in Iraq, then place another in Afghanistan that is guaranteed to go the same way as Saddam in 10 years? Saddam's sons were no doubt guilty of killing a lot of people, but only in their biggest wet dream could they imagine killing on the scale that has happened since their father was deposed. Do you really think Iraq is a safer place than it was 10 years ago? Do you really think the world is a safer place in general? Saddam was a monster and I don't want to appear like I'm defending him, but there was no slaughter on the scale it is now while he was in power, and there were certainly no insurgents. I can only guess that you're an oil baron or a shareholder in Halliburton, because they're the only people with reason to celebrate like you are.
I remember exactly where I was when 9/11 happened as I imagine most people do. I've never seen a suggestion anywhere, on any forum, on any news channel anywhere what the victims of 9/11 would want in their name. Would they really want genocide committed in their name on people who had NOTHING to do with their deaths? Would you?

You close with a paragraph about knowing where you were on 9/11
And your point is?!?!
Iraq and Saddam has nothing to do with 9/11. Only Afghanistan
Iraq was about Saddam's refusal to comply with UN resolutions set in place after Desert Storm.
Adn now to the real stupidity of your post.
You try to rationalize what you think is wrong by comparing the deaths Sadadm and his sons did compared to the much higher deaths you think WE Caused.
Your liberal jack@ss self cannot grasp the fact that those higher death tolls are caused not by Us, but by the very terrorists and insurgents that we are over there fighting.
you go back to 2003 and read about ever damn bomb that has gone off over there. only a small percentage of the insurgent bombings are directed at US and coalition forces. THE VAST MAJORITY of them are directed at Mosques, Schools, Shopping centers, Police stations, cafes, and the like.
The vast majority of the dead Iraqi's are Killed BY THEM not us.
When WE target the enemey.. we are attacking the ones who are doing it NOT Civilians.
Now.. it IS a war.. and in war you cannot prevent 100% civilian casualties and that is a horrible thing. but for your smug a$$ self to sit there and blame the US for it is bullsh*t.
You are so full of liberal bile it isn't funny.

Yeah right, we should watch FOX and listen to Rush where they make up their own set of "facts" to support their racist, greedy, unamerican point of view.

So, because they have different opinions than you, they are unamerican? How unamerican of you.
I'm not an actor. I just play one on TV.

There is a lot of contention about the war, if we should have ventured against the advice of the EU Commission, but I think the dignity is what this movie focuses on and makes it an endearing movie
