I'm not sure. The more I see this the more I love it.
It feels like they've given up making this a decent quality series so let's enjoy it for what it is.
Tho Cillian Murphy, the goat, is in the next one, so who knows what might happen

They've been living around the infected for 28 years. Everyone in England would already know how it spreads and almost everyone watching the movie probably saw the original so there's not much of a point in addressing it.

There was close quarters combat with the zombies in the first movie too. The knockoff power rangers at the end were at least using polearms to do it. There's a lot of problems with the movie but not recapping infections for the dumdums isn't one of them.
