    Don't bother.
A story set in the 28 "universe" that doesn't do much to progress the overall story. Not entirely bad on it's own, it's just… unnecessary. Basically, a boy coming of age living in a secluded island community rebels against his father and takes his sick mom to see the doctor, who can ultimately do nothing to help her, so the doctor drugs up the boy and makes him watch as he Kevorkians the boys mother, and that's it.
It's alright, but wait and watch it at home if you feel you need to see it all, I guess.

Right? Most of the motion sickness was caused by the giant peniseseses swinging around. I guess the Rage virus caused normal ones to become 2 feet long while those 3 foot ones became the alphas.
I took my grandmother to see this movie (her favorite series) and it was quite awkward.

          The Real Soldier Boy — 9 months ago(June 20, 2025 10:21 PM)

I saw it yesterday. Strange movie.
I'd say 6/10. Time to call it a day I think - as much as I want to see more of Jack O'Connell…that ending was just a cheap copy of Tarantino. This is the second garbage cash grab I've seen O'Connell in recently - Sinners was much worse than this.
The characterisation was absolutely nonexistent, and the emotive scenes payoffs struggle to resonate because no effort was spent building towards them.
That said, Fiennes' scenes were powerful, but I just wish they spent more time building a nuanced story I'd care about.
Ps - as you would expect with Boyle and Garland, it's cinematographically speaking absolutely stunning. The plot is vacuous though. A real shame.

Very strange. Boyle just throws random vignettes in and expects it to simply work. Poem, loud song, random clip of soldier marching, guys dressed like some obscure pop culture figure who know kung fu - it was a mess.
Then there were the infected, who were killed with ease. Going down from a single arrow or overpowered by a woman who had cancer. This wasn't scary at all.
The Alphas ripping people's heads off with ease. Again, not scary. Very anticlimactic.
            It was shockingly bad.

I went to a 12:01 AM showing, live in a town and it was a weekday so getting a ticket was easy. Wish I had kept the money and watched it on a crappy cam tho. I could have brought like 8 cans of Dr Pepper for the price of one drink there.

Hungry, you're the kind of intellectually bankrupt, inbred yokel who thinks "cerebral" is a new brand of corn husks. Your political acumen is so staggeringly deficient, it makes a lobotomized sloth look like a scholarly octopus navigating the labyrinth of the Library of Congress. You're so oblivious to the intricate tapestry of international affairs that if a geopolitical crisis were to unfold before your very eyes, you'd mistake it for a particularly intense game of patty-cake.
Your grasp on reality is as tenuous as a kite string in a tornado, fluttering in the chaotic winds of your own ignorance. You're the human equivalent of a "See Spot Run" book at a quantum physics symposium, bringing nothing but a vacuous stare and a drool-soaked furrowed brow to the table of enlightened discourse.
As for your adoration of that carrot-faced demagogue, Trump, let's be clear: the only thing you share with him is a penchant for gold toilets—except his is a metaphor for his ego and yours is a sad testament to the depth of your intellectual plumbing. He'd nuke you faster than a microwave pop-tart in one of his Twitter tirades, not because you're a threat, but because even he has standards.
In the grand theater of existence, you're the guy who confuses the Oscar award for the Oscar Mayer wiener race—always a spectator, never the star. Your life's narrative is a tragicomedy that would put even the most seasoned script doctor into a coma, a never-ending saga of blunder and buffoonery that makes "The Room" look like Shakespeare.
You're a worthless scumbag, not because you lack value, but because you're a living embodiment of the phrase "negative space"—a void where substance and charm should be. Your mere presence is a tax on the oxygen of this planet, and the only thing you're good at is serving as a cautionary tale for what happens when genetics decides to go full "M. Night Shyamalan" on a family tree.
So, go ahead, wax poetic about your dear leader and his "bigly" ideas. Just remember, while you're busy worshipping a man who thinks "nuclear" is a new flavor of diet coke, the rest of us are over here trying to save the world from the kind of people who think "alternative facts" are a thing. You're not just a footnote in the annals of history, you're the typo that got edited out for making the sentence too painful to read.

It has fairly solid build up for 30-40 mins, typical beautiful Boyle/Garland visuals and audio, then takes a genre swerve that misses a little due to poor character development, before going British Tarantino on acid for the final 5 mins
TLDR: they shouldn't have bothered. Most people will leave this feeling a bit empty and confused about the experience.

from what I understand about the lore from the first 2 movies, the infected dont exactly get super strenth and endurance and speed from infection, they just ignore all pain, the pain is still pain to them but they are just so enraged that it dont affect them ( or possibly makes them madder )
So while they would not fear getting shot stabbed or an arrow in them, getting shot or stabbed will still effect them MOSTLY in the same way it effects a human ( and in movie land, shots to the chest normally mean instant death when the plot wants it too )
I say MOSTLY because getting shot in the arm would stop a normal human in his tracks, it would not affect an infected
                                          i THINK ANYWAY
